The actress is in talks to star in Aronofsky’s new, as-yet untitled indie project. We know basically nothing about what this film entails, but we do know that Aronofsky is famous for pushing his leading ladies into edgy territory.
Well, this is great news. The sad things are that Lawrence won’t work with Linklater in The Rosie Project and that Aronofsky has put the Evel Knievel biopic with Channing Tatum in resting mode. But Lawrence + Aronofsky sounds extremely anticipating, vibrating and tour-de-force-esque.October 14, 2015 at 7:54 am #195957
This could be one hell of a pairing. Plus, it keeps her away from O’Russell for awhile lol.October 15, 2015 at 9:37 am #195958
I will donate all my money for this. Dreams come true with movies like thisOctober 15, 2015 at 11:55 am #195959
Ooo I’m a fan of Aronofsky’s!
Perhaps Jennifer will play a paranoid math genius who dances on the side, wrestles to keep in shape and lives where time is one swirling entity….and then, prepares for the big flood.
I’m IN for that.October 15, 2015 at 11:57 am #195960

Linklater actually just dropped out as well. I suspect that they walked out simultaneously but Lawrence just announced first. I believe she will stay on as a producer though?October 15, 2015 at 1:09 pm #195961
To be honest I’m glad Lawrence dropped out of The Rosie Project. I’ve read the novel and I think both lead roles would benefit from more left-field casting choices; a genuine autistic actor as Don would be nice.
I’m dead excited to see what Lawrence and Aronofsky can come up with. If anyone can bring something out of her that we’ve never seen before, it’s him.October 15, 2015 at 1:42 pm #195962
I had a feeling this will happen since Darren was sitting behind Jennifer during 2010 Oscars when she was nominated for “Winter’s Bone” and he for “Black Swan”. It made me wonder why he was seated close to her and not his star and eventual winner, Natalie Portman.October 16, 2015 at 3:36 am #195963

Because Natalie paid for a better seat.October 16, 2015 at 11:35 am #195964
On the one hand, this strikes me as a very weird match. They don´t, actually. On the other, he could bring something great and different out of her. I think she´s getting so stuck in David O. Russell´s world and his type of characters, that Im forgetting she can actually do more and better.October 16, 2015 at 12:36 pm #195965
Why not? I think Lawrence is very much a populist choice with indie respect and admiration, and Aronofsky has already done that (Portman).February 12, 2016 at 12:01 pm #195966

Also, they will rehearse six weeks before filming starts, which is something JLaw had never done.
I have to say the premise sounds very Lynchian-Buñuelesque-Polanskian so, I’m in!!! I’ll be there on opening night, Mr. Aronofsky!!!
