    Wait a tick…

How did I miss this? Brad Pitt is producing a second adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ novel “Blonde,” based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. Chastain is attached to star. How is there little to no chatter about this?

Is it awful because it’s another Monroe biopic or are you unhappy with the casting of Chastain?

I was just thinking the latter, but I guess both.

This sounds definitely much interesting than “My week with Marilyn”.
This is more Norma Jean and less Marilyn Monroe. Psychological, think.

Andrew Dominik + Jessica Chastain + Norma Jean = I’m there.

Is there some strange box office aura around Monroe that is lost on me? I have zero interest in anything about her, unless it’s a movie with her acting in it. I like Chastain, but I don’t see why this is being made.

Well, I really like Andrew Dominik. I would watch this for him. Chastain as Marilyn….ha. Chastain as Norma Jean…I can buy that.

I don´t care for the movie, but I´m really excited about Chastain. PERFECT choice. Goes without saying that she is gonna act the crap out of that role, and for those who say she doesn´t look like her, well, have you seen the help? She can certainly look the part.

Horrible, horrible idea, and so soon after what’s-her-name played Marilyn. Personally, I feel no matter what the film’s pedigree, it all ends up as cheap and tacky exploitation. You might as well get Lindsay Lohan to play the role. Marilyn Monroe was truly unique and special, and no actress can ever really capture her magic.

too much Marilyn biopic for me

but Chastain as Monroe is a big YES for me, just another reason to see her “versatilty”

I think Chastain’s going to be great in this role and strong source material. She’s already had a trial run of sorts with this performance too.

    This SCREAMS Oscar nomination.

Jessica is a sufficient choice. She gave me Marilyn teas in The Help.
