Is it me or are the updates not posting on the forums? I keep refreshing and not seeing updates at all.

Oh yeah. I loved the films this year. It was a very strong year in general, but I’m over the award season. It’s exhausting and not that exciting anymore.

“Always on My Mind” has the potential to be amazing. Whoever distributes that film needs to ram the “Nolte and Close have never won” narrative into Academy members’ heads.

I’m most looking forward to “Inherent Vice” and “Interstellar.”

Maps to the Stars has really caught my interest. Cusack and Moore look like dynamite in the stills. I think it will be a critical success as well as a financial success due to the power of the names in its cast.

I posted elsewhere that I think it will be the film that pulls Cronenberg into the Oscar circuit. Oscar loves movies about Hollywood (the only reason the ridiculous Saving Mr. Banks has any Oscar buzz this year).

The Face Of Love with Ed Harris, another overdue actor. I know many complained this season about veterans hogging up all the slots but I really want people who have never won to return with a vengeance.

^Any news on a release date?

I looked at her IMDb, Bening may have a stronger chance with “The Search” – Michel Hazanavicius’ follow-up to The Artist, starring her and of course Berenice Bejo (I expect Jean Dujardin’s casting to be announced in the next few months).
