Every year, there is one nomination that makes us jump for joy and then a win at the Oscars that makes us scream to the heavens. Even after every awards show gave up on originality and become obsessed with trying to predict the Oscars. Each year, we also see one nomination that makes us roll our eyes and a win (if not multiple..) that makes us scream and pull our hair out. Don’t forget, then, to mention the snub you are most happy about and the snub you are most devistated about…

    For example, last year…

Best Non-Win Nomination…Demian Bichir for Best Actor…one time where the Academy thinks outside of the movie star box their mind is in…and a career is launched into a whole new orbit…gave many people a reason to see a very small film, which would not have been given the same exposure without the nomination

Best Win – The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo wins editing…they could have just checked off the box for The Artist, but they reached out and awarded a movie that mostly went unnoticed throughtout Oscar season…people complain that it was another case of the most edited film winning over more subtler work, but it really was the best paced film of the group and a David Fincher film…Moneyball would also have been a worthy winner

Worst Non-Win Nomination…War Horse (with snubs for writing, directing, editing and acting, you’d think the Academy would get the idea…)

    Worst Win….Score for The Artist…

Favorite Snub…tie…Michael Fassbender for Best Actor and The Ides of March for Best Picture

Most Unbearable Snub – Bennett Miller for Directing Moneyball

Based on your predicted nominations, play this game with the 2013 Academy Awards….

    Best Non-Win Nomination…Demian Bichir for Best Actor…
    >> Totally Agree. Last year’s Best Actor noms were perfect imo..

Best Win – The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo wins editing…
    >> I was actually hoping for The Descendants  to win this somehow..

Worst Non-Win Nomination…War Horse (with snubs for writing, directing, editing and acting, you’d think the Academy would get the idea…)
    >> I kinda loved War Horse because I’m a sucker for emotional and sappy films, but no it did not deserve directing, writing, acting, editing noms.

    Worst Win….Score for The Artist…
    >> I personally love the score. Again, had The Descendants’ scores not deemed ineligible, it was my personal favorite of the year, original or not.

Favorite Snub…tie…Michael Fassbender for Best Actor and The Ides of March for Best Picture
    >> Agreed. I thought Ides of March was a mess, and Clooney’s direction was weak in it.

Most Unbearable Snub – Bennett Miller for Directing Moneyball
    >> I liked the 5 who were nominated, but gun to my head, I’d say kick out Mallick and put Miller in.

The Ides of March was a fine enough movie. I enjoyed PSH and loved that shot behind the American flag during Clooney’s speech, but I was not a fan of the ending and felt most of the cast was underused…
