One of my frustrations in the Supporting Actor category is that I have yet to see Idris Elba’s performance in Beasts Of No Nation. I am not predicting him but maybe if I saw the film I would change my mind. I don’t like Luther but this is a different role from that one. I am not going to get Netflix so I need to see it On Demand if it’s released on there before the nominations come out, which seems unlikely.

I haven’t seen Ex-Machina and I keep seeing Alicia Vikander – my favorite new actress of 2015, who I have seen in 3 films (The Danish Girl, Testament Of Youth and The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) and she’s brilliant! Again, Ex-Machina would need to come out On Demand for me to see it before the nominations. So long as she gets a nomination in of the acting categories for The Danish Girl I will be fine with it, but I would still like to see Ex-Machina.

I have not seen Straight Outta Compton, which has a SAG ensemble nomination. This one might show up soon On Demand.

I haven’t gotten myself over to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens yet. Same with Concussion.

Son Of Saul – nor any of the other foreign language eligible fims – have been released here. So I haven’t seen Geza Rohrig’s performance to assess it.

Most of the documentaries haven’t shown up here either.

This is the first year ever where I have seen all five of the presumed nominees in the Animated Feature category, unless there is a surprise nomination next month.

I have seen The Lady In The Van and I’m convinced that if others could see it they would be predicting an Oscar nomination for her Golden Globe nominated (and I think she will win) performance.

Which films are you having a hard time predicting simply because you haven’t seen them yet? Is there an advantage for those who live in Los Angeles who get to see all these films before the rest of it in predicting the Oscars?

Still too many but should get round to it in the next couple of weeks! My local cinemas have been superb with preview screenings this year.

Looks like Son of Saul will be the one I don’t see unfortunately.

I think the only thing I haven’t seen and want to is 99 Homes. IDK why it isn’t on Amazon yet.

I guess I should watch Labyrinth of Lies, too, but I have no desire to and I personally don’t think it’ll make the list of 5 so whatever.

I’ll cry if Will Smith is nominated because I reeeeeeeeally don’t want to be coerced into watching Concussion.

I will take care of both Carol and The Revenant in the next three weeks at the latest. Also need to catch Son of Saul. Don’t really consider Straight Outta Compton a major contender, but I want to see it, too. And then there’s The Force Awakens which would be nice to catch for the technical categories. I need to finish the first six Star Wars films first, though.

ETA: Trumbo, Anomalisa, Steve Jobs, 45 Years, and The Danish Girl. Ugh.

I’ve seen every single Oscar-baity project. Yeah, I’m that crazy when it comes to Oscars. I hate them so much yet I care about them. Such a fucked up relationship we have.
