Imagine how happy Maria Shriver is these days, reading those stinkeroo reviews of ex-hubby Arnold Schwarzenegger’s comeback “Terminator: Genisys.”

This reboot of the franchise scored a tepid 39 at MetaCritic and managed to make only $29 million over the holiday weekend.

By comparison, both “Jurassic World” and “Inside Out” took in over $30 million apiece, despite having been in theaters for weeks now.

I feel like this franchise should have ended with the third one. Honestly, the first one and second ones were great. The third was a decent film but it should have been a sign that this franchise should have stopped. When the one with Bale came around, I freely admit that I saw it but walked out going “LAME”. Not sure if I’m going to see this one after one of my friends (who knows how my brain works way too well) said the following to me in a text after seeing it: “OMG that movie sucked. The ending is the stupidest thing ever. Arnold and the Game of Thrones girl were good but other than that it was like a 3d movie ride on crack.” Not exactly a glowing review lol.

The screenplay sounds like gobbledeegook for most of the film. I enjoyed it enough but the FX is only ‘ordinary’ and I’ve already commented on the screenplay. Still, the cast did their best and JK and Arnie are fun to watch. Arnie’s “one-liners” have ‘evolved’ to include technical terminology and longer sentences. But they do manage to get his, “I’ll be back” iconic line in there anyways. They do a fairly good job of ‘explaining’ why “Pop” has aged so much……

All of Arnie’s new movies have tanked. The fact that he couldn’t muster up a decent gross for his return to the franchise that made him king is quite pathetic and really the nail in the coffin. It actually made less than the last, Arnie-less installment, Terminator Salvation.

Genisys looks like garbage, by the way. Might still see it though…

Read recently that James Cameron will assume the Terminator franchise sometime in 2019.

This could be resurrected-rebooted ala Batman or Chris Nolan’s The Dark Knight series sans Schwarzenegger hopefully.
