Film has started filming and the first official image of Saoirse is out, and she looks stunning.

2019 could be Saoirse Ronan’s year and I could also totally see Margot Robbie get in for supporting as well, although I’m always weary of remakes. Still, I hope that Focus gives it an awards season release date. I think this could be good.August 19, 2017 at 12:19 pm #1202189482
Yes! You gotta think with all her great roles coming out that Irish Kween Empress Ronan has a very realistic chance at getting that Oscar Larson stole from her in the next couple years.August 19, 2017 at 8:14 pm #1202189684
This still cleared up my skin. My crops are flourishing. Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before.
Irish Kween Empress Ronan is doing amazing, sweeties, and she’s coming for that Oscar. Her first should’ve been for Brooklyn, but…..¯\_(ツ)_/¯August 19, 2017 at 8:29 pm #1202189739
Irish KWEEN empress Ronan looking like she’s channeling Cate Blanchett – Elizabeth type of nomination/performance. Guess she’s a front runner already 🙂August 19, 2017 at 10:17 pm #1202189786
This is going to be a fucking incredible performance. With this type of role, she looks ready to tear 2019 up! Go get that overdue Oscar, my girl.

I’ll go one step further and say that she might become this generation’s Blanchett in terms of the skill of performance and awards success. All signs point that way.August 20, 2017 at 7:27 am #1202190004
She, without a doubt, will be the early frontrunner for 2019.
I hope she gets nominated for her third this year (either for Lady Bird or On Chesil Beach), in preparation for her win come the followin year.
Her choices are giving me Cate Blanchett feels.August 22, 2017 at 8:40 am #1202191709
Well well my cup of tea! Saoirse looks more like Elizabeth 1 to me, but wont matter. Margot should nail her.
Nice seeing a woman directing….might she take a Shakespearean angle?
Let’s make sure the axe swings at least twice, shall we?
Best of luck to the team.August 22, 2017 at 9:38 am #1202191756
So freaking exciting. Saoirse Ronan’s career is the most fascinating career for a young actress I have seen since the halcyon days of young Christina Ricci/Kirsten Dunst/Michelle Williams and only Williams had the pick of the best roles. Ronan tops all that in spades. And she’s leagues ahead of actors her own age (I love Elle Fanning, Ansel Elgort, Shailene Woodley etc. but they’re no match for Ronan). I’m leaving JLaw out of this because she’s been playing roles a few decades above her actual age for a while now and it’s a little bizarre :/August 23, 2017 at 9:23 am #1202192846
Am I the only one who doesn’t see what the fuss is about with Margot Robbie?August 23, 2017 at 10:48 am #1202192897
I didn’t know there was a fuss with Margot Robbie. It’s probably because she is more known for roles like WOWS and Harley Quinn and this is a lot different, but I think she’ll be fine.August 23, 2017 at 10:56 am #1202192909
I’ve a real sense that Robbie’s going to be awful. The role is challenging enough without the fact that it’s already been nailed by titans like Davis, Blanchett, Dench, Redgrave, Jackson and Mirren to name but a few.August 23, 2017 at 4:47 pm #1202193202

Seems to me like there’s a bit of a fuss about her. I’ve read a few times that she’s a role or two away from a nod (?!) and she’s high up on predictions for Goodbye Christopher Robin (why? literally everybody in the trailer was better than her, esp Kelly MacDonald who is badass af in general). I did like her in Wolf of Wall Street, but her hammy Harley Quinn detracted from it.
