I feel there are some performances this year which are being OVERRATED and getting too much attention from critics and awards. In my opinion, some of these a overrated performances are:
    * Daniel Kaluuya in Get Out:
I felt he was very good, but not Oscar level.
    * Holly Hunter in The Big Sick:
I enjoyed a lot the movie and she was okay but I feel that Zoe Kazan was way better.
    * Tiffany Haddish in Girls Trip:
I thought she was very funny as Dina, but definitely not deserving of award recognition over performances like Kirsten Dunst in The Beguiled, Allison Williams in Get Out…)

And you? What are your thoughts about the most OVERRATED performances of the year?

Catherine Keener in Get Out (Allison Williams was better)

Kumail Nanjiani in The Big Sick

    Dafne Keen in Logan

    Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman

Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast

    Gal Gadot – Wonder Woman.

There was no acting involved, she literally played herself.

Omg I completly desagree with you on this one. She was marvelous and acted like a queen.

That being said, everything with Get Out is overrated. From the acting to the screenplay (!?)

Meryl Streep in the Post is overrated.

Tiffany Haddis is just okay in Girls Trip. Melissa McCarthy was WAY better in Bridesmaids.

    Robert Pattinson “Good Time”
    Holly Hunter “The Big Sick”
    Hong Chau “Downsizing”
    James McAvoy “Split”

I don’t know what you see in Kirsten Dunst’s role…
Daniel Kaluuya is awesome in “Get Out”.

    Daniel Kaluuya – Get Out
Holly Hunter – The Big Sick
Laurie Metcalf – Lady Bird (just a bit)
Willem Dafoe – The Florida Project
Gal Gadot – Wonder Woman (she’s talentless, what’s up with everyone being overexcited over her?)
Kumail Nanjiani – The Big Sick
    Tom Hanks – The Post
    Robert Pattison – Good Time
Salma Hayek – Beatriz at Dinner
    Meryl Streep – The Post
Tiffany Haddish – Girls Trip (she gives a regular comedic performance we’ve seen in countless comedies by countless people who are scene-stealers; why wasn’t there Oscar-buzz for them as well?)

Meryl Streep in The Post. She’ll win the Oscar anyway because of that anti-Trump speech and the character she portrayed.

Frances McDormand and Sam Rockwell in the atrocious Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri, and Daniel Kaluuya in the atrocious Get Out.

Emma Watson in Beauty and the Beast.

I still can’t believe she won the MTV Movie awards over James McAvoy, Hailee Steinfeld, Hugh Jackman, Taraji P. Henson and Daniel Kaluuya. And has a chance to be nominated for the Golden Globe with this performance.

Easily it’s Holly Hunter in The Big Sick. She did nothing award worthy. I had the same idea about Amy Adams last year for Arrival.
