There are so many topics in this forum and I’m sure there is already one similar to this, but I would love to see a topic which just gives information on upcoming movies.
So, if you find new information on upcoming movies, post it here. Also try to provide a link if you are contributing information just do members know that it is official info!
The movies can be any, not just award season movies.
I’ll start, the trailer for Song to Song has just been released, it stars Michael Fassbender, Rooney Mara, Ryan Gosling and Natalie Portman along with an ensemble cast such as Cate Blanchett, Val Kilmer, Holly Hunter and Christian Bale as well as multiple musicians. The poster and a link to the trailer is below!

Also the first still from the upcoming movie ‘On Chesil Beach’ which is based on the book of the same name, has been released. It stars Saoirse Ronan in the lead role, the background is stated below.
“In July 1962, Edward Mayhew and Florence Ponting have just been married and are spending their honeymoon in a small hotel on the Dorset seashore, at Chesil Beach. The couple is very much in love despite being from drastically different backgrounds.
During the course of an evening, both reflect upon their upbringing and the prospect of their futures. Edward is sexually motivated and though intelligent has a taste for rash behaviour, while Florence, bound by the social code of another era and perhaps having been sexually abused by her father, is terrified of sexual intimacy. Eventually this leads to an experience that will change their relationship irrevocably.”
Smells Oscar worthy and is getting a late 2017 release, just in time. The still is below.February 20, 2017 at 3:12 pm #1202016833
So if you didn’t already know, there is a new ‘Predator’ film in the works, (for some reason I didn’t know). The title of the upcoming film is ‘The Predator’.
Anyways, the first imagoes the main cast has been released, they are shown below.
The cast includes the likes of Sterling K. Brown, (who has certainly had a big year), Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay and Olivia Munn.
The director is Shane Black, who probably not coincidently had a supporting role in the original film. He has directed films in the past such as Iron Man 3 and The Nice Guys. So yeah, this should be interesting! Oh, and did I mention that 50 Cent has also been cast?March 14, 2017 at 3:37 pm #1202036982
It has been announced that Ridley Scott’s next directoral effort will be for the drama-biopic, ‘All The Money In The World’.
On July 10, 1973, in Rome, kidnappers abducted 16-year-old John Paul Getty III and, over the telephone, demanded $17 million for his safe return. However, “the family suspected a ploy by the rebellious teenager to extract money from his miserly grandfather.” John Paul Getty Jr. asked his father for the money, but was refused.
In November 1973 an envelope containing a lock of hair and a human ear arrived at a daily newspaper. The second demand had been delayed three weeks by an Italian postal strike. The demand threatened that Paul would be further mutilated unless the victims paid $3.2 million: “This is Paul’s ear. If we don’t get some money within 10 days, then the other ear will arrive. In other words, he will arrive in little bits.”
The film chronicles the struggles that the boys mother, Abigail Harris, went through to persuade her in-law to pay the ransom.
Natalie Portman is Scott’s pick for the lead role of Abigail Harris, Angelina Jolie was the first choice but her schedule didn’t work out for filming. It is reported that Portman is close to signing. (Probably delayed due to just giving birth.)
The film will be shot on location in Italy, and production is planned to begin in May.April 4, 2017 at 12:04 am #1202054128
Directed by Felix Van Groeningen (The Broken Circle Breakdown), adapted from both the father’s and the son’s books, chronicles meth addiction and recovery through the eyes of a father who watches his son as he struggles with the disease.
Starring Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet. Produced by Plan B, distributed by Amazon Studios. 2018.
Both have all the potential to score big at awards with this. Carell can really cement his place as a drama lead, and Chalamet is already profiting from his work on Call Me by Your Name with great weighty projects.
