    Oblivion

    and many others…

Did you end up hating After Earth because of M. Night Shyamalan giving his last few films have been panned?

For myself, I didnt care for it not because of Shyamalan, but because, regardless of how long I waited the film just kept getting worse. It could have been a truly interesting film working with that premise. But, no.

Paranormal Acticity 3 and 4 : Let me explain. LOVE the first, second, and the Marked Ones but those were just so dull. These movies are my guilty pleasures.

    DREAMGIRLS
    DREAMGIRLS
    DREAMGIRLS

So many dreams were crushed that day…

Okay, I didn’t HATE it.  It was just a massive disappointment.

Les Miserables. A near-perfect cast, creative team and source material wrecked by an incompetent director.

I don’t think these movies sucked, per se, but I was highly disappointed: ‘Nine’, ‘Les Miserables’, ‘Spider-Man 3’, ‘The Hobbit’, ‘The Lovely Bones’… I’ll think of more.

I have many that I won’t remember but I’ll go with the last couple of years:

    The Monuments Men (so underwhelming)
    Noah (laughably bad)
    Transcendence (No comment necessary)
Iron Man 3 (absolutely the worst of the 3)
    Oblivion (Not enough Morgan Freeman)
Man of Steel (Not necessarily hatred, but disappointment for sure)
The Host (Possibly my least favourite movie ever)
Gangster Squad (Great Cast, totally wasted)
Carnage (not horrible, but a waste of time)

Like I said, I’m sure there’s more, I can build up great expectations.

Some of these are not that I hated them it’s the fact that they didn’t deliever but some were just plain bad

American Hustle (overrated but an ok film)
Out of the Furnace (it could have been better)
Rock of Ages (High hopes but it was eh)
The Last Airbender (As an avid fan of the TV show I want to drive to M. Night’s house and punch him in the face for this horrific mess that’s how much I hated that movie)
A Million Ways to Die in the West (Wasn’t terrible but could have been better)
That Awkward Moment (Same as Million)
Girl Most Likely (What a great cast but what an uneventful movie)
Gangster Squad (It could have been better)
Movie 43 (I don’t know why I got my hopes up)
    The Bling Ring (Yawn)
District 9 (God awful movie I’m sorry. It had so much potential but it was just an annoying ugly movie)
Where the Wild Things Are (It just didn’t work for me)
Anchorman (I love Will Ferrell but this is his most overrated movie)
Mullhard Drive (I love David Lynch but this one didn’t really stike a cord with me)

Some disappointments have been the following. A full list will be to damn long:

    Amour (2012)
    The Bling Ring (2013)
    Brokeback Mountain (2005)
    Epic (2013)
The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
    Frances Ha (2013)
    Godzilla (2014)
    Gravity (2013)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939)
    Insidious (2011)
    I actually loathe this film.
    Peter Pan (2003)
    Rock of Ages (2012)
    Spring Breakers (2013)

The Purge – had so much potential. I seriously didn’t enjoy anything about it. It was boring, trying too hard, and just flat out dumb.
A Million Ways to Die in the West – boring and not that funny
The Last Airbender – I’ve just given up on M. Night Shyamalan
Idenitity Theif – I thought since Melissa McCarthy was so funny in Bridesmaids that it would be the same case in this… but sadly not the case.

    I have 2 more:
I think Inception is overrated. I love Nolan and I love the originality of the movie and the production elements but it fell flat for me.
The Paperboy. After Lee Daniels’ masterpiece Precious, I thought this would be too. With Kidman in it, I thought it would be great but it was just odd and uncomfortable. Zac Efron gave an impressive performance but other than that I just didn’t like it
