This has been out for a while…. Over a year.
Regardless, both ladies look as lovely as ever.April 23, 2012 at 12:54 pm #60340
sorry – thought it was recent (not that it isn’t of interest)April 23, 2012 at 3:32 pm #60341
I had never seen it before (the post date shows that it came out last year), and I don’t remember it being mentioned here before. It is kind of interesting since Lost in Translation touched on famous actors working on commercials in foreign countries (though what Williams and Portman are doing – working with Polanski – is quite a bit different than selling a product from a commercial director). I’ve heard about Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster pitching products in Asia (notably Japan).April 23, 2012 at 3:39 pm #60342
Just to clarify, I didn’t mean to imply that it wasn’t worth posting. I just thought it should be noted that this wasn’t a recent collaboration.April 23, 2012 at 3:48 pm #60343
I was glad to find that out Tye-gre, no problem with your mentioning it.
Many top directors make commercials all the time – Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh, Ridley Scott, David Lynch, Darren Aronofsky, David Fincher, Spike Jonze, Wes Anderson is recent years; both Ingmar Bergman and Federico Fellini did them in their day.April 23, 2012 at 3:58 pm #60345
David Gordon Green directed the famous Clint Eastwood Super Bowl commercial this last February.April 23, 2012 at 6:16 pm #60346
Umm, there is NO perfume called “GREED.” At least I hope not.
PS: Are the two women supposed to be “gay”? Or just “greedy”? And why does a man show up in the final seconds? So many questions!
EDITED TO ADD: So it’s actually called “CREED”? Meh!
AND THEN EDITED TO ADD SOME MORE: Nope, it’s really a parody, satirizing overpriced, fetishized luxury products, hence the name “GREED.” Good for Roman Polanski!April 23, 2012 at 7:16 pm #60347
What a weird ad, and I was wondering the same; are they are advertising lesbianism as if its hot or something?
Natalie looks gorgeous like always, but why does Michelle look like a retro Lady GaGa or something?
So many questions, I’m sooo weirded out.April 23, 2012 at 11:11 pm #60348
If I’m not wrong this ad it’s no true, it’s made by Polanski but for a fake perfume, it was kind of a joke lolApril 24, 2012 at 8:46 am #60349
When I hear “perfume commercial by Roman Polanski,” I didn’t expect it to be so funny. I love how it starts with the usual glamor of a perfume ad and then takes a turn for the absurd.April 24, 2012 at 12:13 pm #60350
Natalie Portman (and Johnny Depp) also appear in the new Paul McCartney music video for “My Valentine”, which he also directed. I believe this is the first time Natalie has been on camera since giving birth to her son, and she looks as gorgeous as ever.April 26, 2012 at 8:50 am #60351
Funny ad. It would be great if this would lead both Portman and Williams to work with Polański on a film project.May 23, 2012 at 2:01 pm #60352
Here’s a new Polanski ad with Helena Bonham Carter and Ben Kingsley (it’s terrific):
