A few yrs ago I was on the verge on joining & being a card-carrying member of the OFCS-(Online Film Critics Society)-(es: not sure right now) the main grouping based in LA, but life got in the way ofcs course
For those that may now know this, there’s another OFCS outside of NY
However I can locate every single other annual 2017 pre-*9O year card-carrying critics awards via the net of course but they are a BLANK & nowhere to be found
Any tips & such you have please notify me directly!
Plus, there’s the far less important-(only 26 members) but given I-(sadly) still reside down here in FLORIDA-(going on 36yrs too!) LA was simply perfecto! Was there in April of 1999, November of 99 & 2005)
I remember a local criutics I used to always talk to via regular old phone-(mid 1990’s) to try & find some ofg these awards & he was sooo excited that FL was getting it’s own movie awards! However, Florida Film Critics have literally turned-(& it’s winners) in an ultra leftists type of thing instead. I rate things down the middle myself.
SO ANY TIPS WOULD BE WELCOME, ESPECIALLY THE O.F.C.S. AWARD NOMS?
I just was fondly remembered on Amazon.com of a kinda’ fun moviebook I may one day hopeto get & it’s $cheap$ on there as well
But, first wanted to inquire you fellow “Goldyite’s” if you have it, or even scanned through it & your opinion
“The Golden Razzie awards” handbook? Some on here mayt already now I;m more then a fan of MADONNA-(l958-0) though not for his acting talent of coiuirse.
She won Worst Actress for ’87’s “Who’s That Girl?” ($7m.) *) & the underrated, but still mediocre 2002 “Swept Away” (**) won it’s to prize.
(TRIVIA: Many years ago before the “GR’s” they Awarded Harvard Lampoon’s Worst of the Year Awards-(950’s, 60’s, ‘709’s & into the 1980′;s)
& given the trooper she always was NATALIE WOOD was the very first person to accepted “Worst Actress” of the year, around 1965 or so!) She gigghled, because she was just up for her 3rd & final *Oscar bid/ nomination that year for ’63’s terrific “Love With the Proper Stranger” (***1/2)
