Highly unlikely or ain’t no way – things we don’t think will hapeen but wish for!

Mine are: Rene Russo gets Supporting Actress nom

Riz Ahmed gets Supporting Actor nom

Steve Carell gets Supporting Actor nom, making room for either Jake G. or Ralph F. in Lead Actor

Mandy Walker gets well-deserved Cinematography nom for Tracks

Any one of the following gets a surprise nom in Lead Actress: Shailene Woodley, Mia Wasikowska, Hilary Swank, Essie Davis, Agata T. or Agata K. (for Ida), or Gugu Mbatha-Raw

Rosewater earns Jon Stewart a nom for either Director or Adapted Screenplay

    Pride gets a screenplay nomination

    Nightcrawler gets a Cinematography nom

A woman gets a Best Director nom (Ava D. or Angelina J. – I actually prefer the latter)

If a Birdman actress must get a Supporting Actress nom, let it be Naomi Watts instead of Emma Stone

Snowpiercer gets a Production Design nomination

The Case Against 8 makes it on to the final ballot for Best Documentary

Miyavi gets a Supporting Actor nomination

Academy members ignore the critics and give Unbroken all the nominations it was going to get before the critics weighed in

Love Is Strange gets an Original Screenplay nomination

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 gets a Best Picture nomination

Donald Sutherland gets a nomination for his President Snow

Boyhood gets two Best Song nominations (“Splitting The Difference” and “Ryan’s Song”)

Nightcrawler gets at least one nomination, rather than being shut out completely

Alex Lawther gets a Supporting Actor nomination for The Imitation Game

As long as Steve Carell gets nominated for something I don’t really care what it is.

How likely is it for there to be a tie in the nominations? So instead of 5 we get 6 nominees for one of the more competitive categories.

Some nice wishes. I hope so too for many of the above.

Selma. Must mention Selma and Ava.

And one of my favorite films of the year, Guardians of the Galaxy. Let’s see THAT in the BP lineup.

If Chazelle and Duvernay join Anderson, Inarittu and Linklater, that would be the best director lineup that would delight me the most.

The Theory of Everything severely underperforms – Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones both get left out of Acting categories.

Steve Carrell gets nominated for Supporting Actor, making it a VERY strong category and leaving room in Lead Acting.

One or more of the following to be nominated for Screenplay: Frank, Force Majeure, Pride, Leviathan.

Whiplash overperforms with nominations for Best Directing and Best Actor.
