In sports predictions, especially for playoffs and post-season coverage, they often talk about confidence picks. Let’s try this with the categories of this year’s Oscars.

Rank these categories by your confidence in your final predicted winner. In other words, your top pick would be the one you are most confident in happening. Your bottom pick would be the one you are least confident in happening.

I’ve been doing a lot of poking and prodding and there is, for some reason (cough, cough, Harvey Weinstein, cough), a strong showing of support for SLP. But that may not be enough to overtake definite frontrunner Argo, whose directing snub seems to have propelled it instead of pushing it aside (why couldn’t it have happened to ZD30 instead?). Numbers 17 through 21 are my most shaky picks, but only 20 and 21 are in a likelihood not going to happen, in my humble analysis.
