I hadn’t been paying too much attention to this film, but now I will. Looking at the initial reviews, they are heavily weighted topheavy (7 out of 9 reviews on Metacritic are 90+ and the RT score is pretty much saturated). This implies that this film’s critical reviews will remain 4 to 5 stars. It looks like a lock for a BP nomination.

I also have to note that Benedict Cumberbatch is in it. Is he in every film this year? After a little research, apparently the answer is yes.

The writing is already clearly on the wall ; SLAVE will indeed win best picture and almost certainly best director and maybe even best actor …..if Oprah had not been a black woman  then I suspect that it would also have won best supporting actress too ; it is simply political dynamite

It still baffles me why a film no one’s seen or heard anything relevant about, a total wild card, has long been declared the frontunner in these charts.. and now 12 Year’s supposed competition.

I agree , it has completely baffled me …..I thought those Hollywood insiders had some information from the many folks who   had actually worked on the movie and had seen the rough cut that implied  it was an exceptional movie … but who knows ?

I agree with this too ….it is dripping with maudlin , mawkish , syrupy political correctness

No I’m more disgusted by the fact that people are calling it over already. So overly dramatic and just plain boring.
