It’s oficially. I’m suffering from Oscar fatigue right now. I watched every movie (except shorts and foreign language), the race seems predictable and I just can’t wait to see the best actress’ suspense go away. It’s like when you travel. At some point, you want to get back to your own house.

So, let’s go mad. Let’s spend at least some time without trying to explain our arguments. The problem with Oscar fatigue? You have to find something to do before the Oscar night.

Let’s see if you join this game. If I were ___ , I would vote for ____.
It’s simple. For example, i will predict how Nicole Kidman will vote this year. Then, I suggest the next person to post to imagine other Hollywood actor, director, etc, how will he vote.

    Let’s start:
    Nicole Kidman

Best Picture – She is actually tired. Harvey Weinstein call her and ask her to vote for THE ARTIST. George Clooney also called, but asked her to vote for THE DESCENDANTS. But Nicole prefered MIDNIGHT IN PARIS and THE TREE OF LIFE. Her daughters look at her with a big smile, she forgets Harvey and George. She votes for THE TREE OF LIFE.

Best Director – Nicole decided to split the vote between picture and director. She goes with Woody Allen.

Best Actor – oh, oh. She has a problem here. She thinks she has to vote for her pal George Clooney but she is secretly rooting for Jean Dujardin. She finds him very sexy. She quickly votes for Jean Dujardin and closes the ballot. The next day, George calls. Nicole says: “I just voted for you!!!”.

Best Actress – Easy for her. She thinks it’s time for Meryl Streep to win again. Nicole is guilty because Meryl Streep was not nominated for THE HOURS.

Best Supporting Actor – Christopher Plummer or Max von Sidow? She was doubts. Many. She votes for them two, hoping the Academy will consider the two votes.

Best Supporting Actress – Octavia Spencer. She adores her performance.

NEXT: STEVEN SPIELBERG – who takes the challenge?

    I will

Spielberg will waste a vote and pick his own film as the years best..WAR HORSE
Then he will vote for Scorsese as best director…He would pick HUGO as best film
    but he is torn…

He appreciates THE ARTIST.  but wont vote for something so special..

    ACTOR
Has he ever directed any of the nominees?… Not sure…he remembers in 1999 when Roberto
Benigni climbed over his head on the arms of the seats..he was scared..he doesnt trust the
Frenchman, Dujardin…..so he votes for a definite democrat..GEORGE CLOONEY
    ACTRESS
Everyone  who is in the business for 30 years plus wants Meryl to win..but they always forget
to vote for her..Mr Spielberg will pick Viola davis because HIS Dreamworks produced and released
    her THE HELP
    SUP. ACTOR
Easy one for Steven….His all time favorite musical film is  THE SOUND OF MUSIC.. so without
regards for the other nominees..he just picks PLUMMER.
    SUP. ACTRESS
His wife tells him to vote for Bejo to give THE ARTIST something but like everyone else
he loves Octavia Spencer’s performance and afterall , she is in THE HELP…which made oodles
    for him.

OK..Next up..How will SANDRA BULLOCK  vote???

Sandra votes for Max von Sydow because she LOVED the way he opened and closed his hands. Plus, she’s IN the movie with him. Never hurts.
For Sound Editing, Mixing, and VE she votes for Transformers, because she’s tired of box office films being poo-poo’d, like most of hers.
For Makeup she votes for TIL, because she wants Meryl to be involved in a win SOMEWHERE.

For Director, her vote goes to Terrence Malick, because she wants to be in one of his films, puleeze!
Best Actor goes to George; afterall, she’s in Gravity with him. Doesnt hurt.

For BP, she votes for Extremely Loud of course, even though she could barely stand it. Director goes to Terrence, as I said.  Although, she lies to George about it. Actress?  Rooney Mara, because she reminds her of herself waaay back.

    Another name……

    Woody Allen

For best picture, with preferential voting, people don’t waste votes anymore. Spielberg likely votes for War Horse in the #1 position; it is the #2 and later spots that could be important.

If he is voting his corporate interests, he’d vote The Help #2, since it was a Dreamworks film.

Just making a joke about his total disinterest in the Oscars, and what he might do with his ballot instead.

    Obviously I failed. LOL

Hmmmm, we got off track a little so I’ll do my girl, RENEE ZELLWEGER.

    Picture
Though she loves and admired her pal/former flame/former director/former costar, George Clooney, in The Descendants, she can’t help but vote for The Artist.

    Actor
She rallied behind Colin Firth for the Oscars last year and she would be over the moon to see him win Oscar no. 2.

    Actress
She’s torn…As she is from the south where characters in The Help were treated like crap, she really admires Viola Davis for taking on such a challenging role and knocking it out of the park. But she played Meryl Streep’s daughter in One True Thing and doesn’t see how any actor couldn’t vote for Streep. So, that ol’ iron lady gets her vote.

    Supporting Actor
She’s an LGBT activist and is all about a legend getting his/her due. Therefore, for her, Plummer is a no-brainer.

    Supporting Actress
Though she was *thisclose* to voting Davis in Lead Actress, she without hesitation checks off Octavis Spencer. Renee knows what it’s like to win this category for a scene-stealing role and that’s exactly what Octavia did.

    Director
She knew George was talented but even she was blown away by the performance he gave. A huge chunk of George’s performance credit goes to Alexander Payne, so that’s who she’s voting for.

    Original Screenplay
Midnight in Paris, though she’d be fine seeing Bridesmaids win.

    Adapted Screenplay
She has her degree in Literature, so her hears naturally pick up on a well-adapted screenplay. Though a tossup, she gives the edge to The Descendants.

Tom who?  I’m not quite sure who this Mr. Hanks is..  But I almost forgot that I, CAROL CHANNING, am a member of the Academy! Nominee for Best Supporting Actress in 1967.  Oh!  You remember!  How sweet..  That sweet girl, Estelle Parsons, beat me.  But she’s lovely, so I don’t mind.

But I almost forgot to send in my ballot!

Let’s see.. who shall I vote for?

    BEST PICTURE:
Well, I AM a quarter African American.  I grew up listening to the thrilling sounds of Gospel and church music.  I have to vote for.. oh.. what was it?  It was um.. um.. THE COLOR PUR..  Oh, wait no that’s not it..  whichever one Cicely Tyson was in.  She’s one of my dearest friends.  We had lunch together once.  I think..

    BEST ACTOR:
Oh!  Well, they’re just all so good looking!  I think I’ll go for that Brad Pitt.  He really heats up my underpants.

    BEST ACTRESS:
Oh, they’re just all so lovely.  Five-way tie!  I’ll check all the boxes!  But I’ll check Glen’s twice.  We look alike.  Some might think we are sisters.

    BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Oh, well Captain Von Trapp, of course!  You know I used to sing Edelweiss in my one-woman cabaret act in the seventies.  I added some dance steps to it, and it suddenly became a musical comedy song!  The audience just fell apart!

    BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
Who’s the one that took a shit?  Oh, there’s two of them?  Can’t pick between them.. I’ll just give up.

    ::Ballot goes in the shredder::

When are they gonna invite me to present?  I have to get my red headdress ready!

Okay.. now Mr. Hanks can go..

that was a tricky question, babypook. Woody Allen is not an Academy member lol

As requested by Morgan:  TOM HANKS!

    Let me take that…
BEST PICTURE – He is mr. nice guy so he decided he can’t vote for EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE, because he was in it. He can’t vote for HUGO because Steven Spielberg would be mad. He can’t vote for WAR HORSE and THE HELP, because he don’t want Academy voters saying he is parcial. He thinks about MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, just because he would like to work with Woody Allen. “Sin”, he thinks if he votes for the guy he wants to work with. He hated MONEYBALL and THE TREE OF LIFE because Brad Pitt stole his roles. That leaves him with THE ARTIST and THE DESCENDANTS. He thinks: THE ARTIST is the frontunner, does not need is vote. He feels pity. Tom Hanks votes for THE DESCENDANTS.

BEST DIRECTOR – Michel Hazanavicius, just because he loves to pronounce the name.

BEST ACTOR – He is jealous.. Clooney can have two, just like him. He votes for Jean Dujardin.

BEST ACTRESS – He closes is eyes and drops the pen. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. The pen actually lands in Melissa McCarthy. He votes for her. Best actress? Sandra Bullock asked him to vote for Meryl Streep, but Hanks doesn’t want any actor with three Oscars. he votes for Glenn Close.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR – Max von Sidow.
