Imagine you have a friend who is an Oscar voter, but he/she doesn’t care for many of the films this year, so they let you have their ballot! What would your choices be?

    Mine would be:

    Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Color

“Ben-Hur” Art Direction: William A. Horning and Edward Carfagno & Set Decoration: Hugh Hunt

    Best Costume Design, Black-and-White

    “Some Like It Hot” Orry-Kelly

    Best Costume Design, Color

    “Ben-Hur” Elizabeth Haffenden

    Best Sound Recording

“Ben-Hur” Franklin Milton, MGM Studio Sound Department

    Best Film Editing

    “North by Northwest” George Tomasini

    Best Effects, Special Effects

    Best Dramatic or Comedy Score

    “Ben-Hur” Miklos Rozsa

Best Original Song, Musical Score, Animated Short, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short, and Foreign Language Film

I abstain, since I have not seen any of the nominees

Exactly the same me as me LOL! I don’t know if you could tell from Anatomy of a Murder’s only other award being for George C. Scott, but if Some Like It Hot had been a Best Picture nominee, I would have given it the win there too. Same with Marilyn Monroe giving the BEST performance of her career.
