Agree on The Florida Project, and I also think BR2049 should have gotten much more. My favorite movie this year to get absolutely no nominations is The Killing of a Sacred Deer.January 27, 2018 at 12:22 am #1202480123

“Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” for Best Animated Feature
THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR THIS. Leave Boss Baby alone, it was entertaining and well-directed at least. But to nominate Ferdinand over Underpants will piss me off for quite some time. As someone who grew up loving the books by Dav Pilkey, I thought the adaptation was more perfect in how it was able to be fun and silly enough for kids but clever and inventive enough for adults. A Pixar-level balancing act. I’m going to get a lot of shit for saying this, but I would have been thrilled to see the good-but-not-great Mudbound snubbed for Adapted Screenplay so that Captain Underpants could make the cut instead.January 27, 2018 at 8:15 am #1202480265
Hong Chau’s snub is the only snub that outright enraged meJanuary 27, 2018 at 8:26 am #1202480272
