YES! She may have quite an amount of screentime, but this decision makes sense. Plus, her odds at getting nominated might be much better. I am really rooting for her, along with the film, this awards season.

Good and obvious move. We just need to wait and see what her competition ends up being.

Smart move. Now she is in it, to win it.

    Shocking!

It’s probably just me, but I feel like Gold Deby is so behind on film news this year.

I hadn’t thought the studio officially confirmed anything regarding the placement yet.

Anyways, thank goodness they didn’t go lead. That would have been throwing away an easy nomination.

What a ridiculous, ill-informed insult on your part. Yesterday IFC Films, their Oscar campaigners, Arquette’s rep and others all held a Star Chamber Proceeding to ultimately decide the matter of category placement once and for all. Plus other “Boyhood” matters. Prior to this powwow, no category decision had officially been made. After the meeting was over, they contacted Gold Derby to give us the story exclusively. Everything you heard prior to today was conjecture, unofficial, gossip and speculation. Today we broke the actual news.

Since you obviously do not appreciate the real journalism at Gold Derby, I recommend you take your insults elsewhere. And hurry.

Well I mean, she’s not even a borderline lead, like at all, so I didn’t think her placement in supporting was ever in question. I guess it’s good to get a confirmation.

Lmao, calm down Tom. Jesus…I didn’t mean to insult Gold Derby’s journalism at all. Keep doin’ your thang.

I’m kinda shocked at how I was being spoken to, as if I just joined this site yesterday.   I guess the members here are disposable.

She is a boarderline lead I would say. I don’t think it was a far fetch idea to think she could fit in either. But she has more of a chance to win here it seems but we haven’t seen what Laura Dern will be doing and such so I won’t say anything is a done deal just yet

How YOU were spoken to? Check out some of your nasty comments to me. Maybe you should post a bit less and think a bit more.

OK, so Arquette’s going for the win. Probably wise. I think this will have a knock-on effect on some dubious (are they lead or supporting? like Hathaway, Chastain, Moore, etc.) Oscar campaigners.
