O yay MacBeth! Another decade to trash! Lol

    Best Picture:

Titanic   ! Such a detailed, emotional experience.

Forrest Gump  Smarter guy than most

    Silence of The Lambs   Chilling!

American Beauty   As smug as Birdman, only better

Schindler’s List, Unforgiven, Dances With Wolves, all tied, mainly because of the subject matter and political pov

Shakespeare in Love   Great comedic timing!

Braveheart  I would rank this higher after disliking it for ages, if it were not for Mel’s BS arc

    The English Patient  O brother.

    Actor

Whoa this category is difficult to rank…..

Anthony Hopkins    No explanations required. Category placement in this case, incidental

Kevin Spacey         Love him in this!

Geoffrey Rush        Just, play Flight of The Bumblebee.

Jeremy Irons           So droll. Where was Glenn’s nomination???

Tom Hanks:            Both perfs, phenomenal imo

Nicolas Cage          Great work. Miss him.

    Jack Nicholson        Sublime!

Al Pacino                 Glad he won but unfortunate he missed for his really good perfs

    Roberto Benigni      er…

    Actress

Holly Hunter                   Not just first for me but also one of my favorite perfs and films!

Kathy Bates                    I met someone who reminded me of her on my last cross country trip…….

    Hilary Swank                  No explanations required

Frances McDormand      “I have to disagree with your detective work Norm”

    Jodie Foster                   Sublime

Emma Thompson           Makes all more watchable

Susan Sarandon             Nice work but doesnt inspire me to become a nun

Helen Hunt                     That’s how you look with ‘aging’ makeup honey?

Jessica Lange                Appreciate her perf and the film! Omg!

Gwyneth Paltrow            You look mighty fine in a moustache baby

    Supporting Actor

Joe Pesci                       dont make him mad whatever you do

    Martin Landau               Wonderful work Marty

Kevin Spacey                You had me fooled for a while

Tommy Lee Jones         My my what a Marshal!

Robin Williams               Disliked your film; loved your work

Gene Hackman              That’s right Gene. Keep kicking him while he’s down

Jack Palance                 Great work from a legendary actor who was finally formally acknowledged

Cuba Gooding Jr            For gawd’s sake someone show him the money!

Michael Caine                Imo, you’re fabulous in everything

    Supporting Actress

    Omg!

    Anna Paquin                  She wins.

the rest…..tied. But allow me to say that I appreciate Basinger, Tomei, Wiest, Ruehl, Sorvino, Binoche, Dench, Goldberg and Jolie

    Director

James Cameron   His achievements here are indisputable. (go ahead and try)

    tough choice….

Kevin Costner        That’s right. Kevin. And, for several reasons, political and personal

Jonathan Demme  One of the most stylish, well-acted and scripted films ever.

Clint Eastwood       You’re the guy who makes American Sniper Clint?

    Steven Spielberg   Welcome Ralph Fiennes!

    Robert Zemeckis      So fine

Mel Gibson             I give him credit for those fabulously choreographed and authentic battle scenes

Anthony Menghella        Stylish, gorgeous to watch.

Sam Mendes              His best film to date.

    Spielberg                 Saving Private Ryan

    Screenplay

Wow what a stellar category! O no!

    Adapted

    LA Confidential

    Forrest Gump

    Sense and Sensibility

    Schindler’s List

    The Silence of The Lambs

    Gods and Monsters

    Dances With Wolves

    Howard’s End

I love all of these screenplays.

    Sling Blade

    The Cider House Rules

    Original

    The Piano                                  A personal favorite

    The Crying Game                      ditto

    Fargo                                         same

    Pulp Fiction                                A masterpiece

    American Beauty

    Ghost

Thelma and Louise                    The final great entry by Ridley Scott before he plunges into mediocrity

    The Usual Suspects

Shakespeare in Love                 This screenplay is perhaps the best thing about this movie

    Good Will Hunting

    Animated

Special Achievement Award to John Lasseter, leader of the Toystory team, who went on to make the first full length computor-animated film in history
