I see you´re doing an american version of Amour
I agree on Michael Pitt. The rest not so much, you need efortless actors for the roles and an actor who cant move his mouth because of plastic surgery (not critisizing him for it, just not for the role), the same can be said about Faye.

I love how everyone seems to think Dev Patel should have got the lead in Life of Pi. I’m sorry, but he’s a god-awful actor who’s lucky to have gotten the roles he’s been given.

It would have been interesting to see what Zooey Deschanel and Anne Hathaway would have done with Jen’s role in SLP, since they were who David O. Russell initially intended to cast.

    Other Recasts:
Amy Adams as Fantine and Ewan McGregor as Javert in Les Miserables would have been awesome. Both are arguably better singers than Hathaway and Crowe, respectively.
Will Smith as Django in Django Unchained.
Christoph Waltz as Silva in Skyfall.

    Amour
Kristan Scott Thomas as Eva instead of Isabelle Huppert

    Argo
Ryan Gosling as Tony Mendez instead of Ben Affleck

    Life of Pi
Akshay Khanna as Pi Patel (Older) instead of Irrfan Khan

    The Sessions
Julianne Moore as Cheryl instead of Helen Hunt

    Les Miserables
Lea Michelle as Eponine instead of Samantha Barks
Carey Mulligan as Fantine instead of Anne Hathaway, or, for cry face purposes alone, Claire Danes (I don’t know if she can sing but damm she can cry)

    THE SESSIONS
    Michelle Pfeiffer as Cheryl Cohen-Greene

OMG yes yes yes! I wonder if Pfeiffer would have any of Hathaway’s hardware. But I’m happy Hunt got the nomination. It’s a comeback role that reminded everyone her win for As Good As It Gets wasn’t a fluke. (Which, I already realized when I watched her little seen masterpiece Then She Found Me.)

    Jennifer Lawrence – Charlize Theron

This and the Gwyneth Paltrow replacements for Tiffany would be fantastic. I’d have liked to see Rooney Mara replace Jessica Chastain in ZD30, as Bigelow originally wanted.

I feel like Anna Karenina 2012 was woefully miscast. Keira Knightley was vapid and way too young for Anna. I would have cast:

    Marion Cotillard as Anna,

Ryan Gosling as Count Vronsky and

    Colin Firth as Karenin .

I hope they cast an actress of Cotillard’s calibre in the upcoming Madame Bovary remake.

Did Rooney Mara decline the part, or had scheduling conflicts?

Although I loved Anne in the part I would have loved to see Emmy Rossum play Fantine. The two are quite similar and Emmy would have better I think. She is so great and Shameless and has an amazing singing voice she would have been great.
