Dead at 40, from a fiery car crash. From TMZ:
Paul Walker, best known for his role
in “The Fast and the Furious” movies, died Saturday
afternoon after a single-car accident and explosion in Southern
California, TMZ has learned.
The accident happened in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles and according to multiple sources
connected to Paul, the actor was in a Porsche when the driver
somehow lost control and slammed into a post or a tree and then
the car burst into flames.
Several of our sources – some who are
still at the scene of the accident – tell us Paul and another person
in the car were killed. Law enforcement is still on the scene, and
we’re told the L.A. County Coroner’s Office is on the way. At
this point, it’s unclear what caused the accident, or who was behind
the wheel when it happened.
Paul was 40 years old.
Sources close to Paul tell us he was in
Santa Clarita for a car show to support the Philippines typhoon
relief effort, and had been taking friends out for rides in his new
Porsche GT. The accident happened during one of those test spins.

Friend of mine came up with a site saying it was a hoax. So far only TMZ is reporting. Could still be true but truly hope it isn’t
These days with so many hoaxes, you never know.November 30, 2013 at 6:56 pm #119860
But I’m seeing many other media outlets reporting it from the TMZ story.November 30, 2013 at 7:11 pm #119862
Saw that (won’t repeat the crude joke my friend made), and apparently Variety is confirming as well. Odd how a random celeb such as Walker is uniting the internet. He had a legion of fans it seems. And Joyride is a great tense movie.November 30, 2013 at 7:15 pm #119863
So sad. I’m shocked. I love the Fast and Furious films so this is especially shocking. Wow.November 30, 2013 at 7:17 pm #119864
It appears that there was a death hoax earlier and then one site ran a confirmation today that he wasn’t dead (which they’ve now taken down). This is adding to massive confusion.
In any case, the people who make up these hoaxes are scum.November 30, 2013 at 7:49 pm #119865
Never understood the completely & utter boredom or idiocy one must have to start a death hoax. What do they hope to gain? Just a glimmer of hope in their mother’s basement?November 30, 2013 at 7:53 pm #119866
His death has been confirmed on his Facebook page and by the AP.November 30, 2013 at 8:00 pm #119867

Some people get off on causing chaos or suffering. Look at some of the fake tweets during Hurricane Sandy as another example. Maybe these people crave attention or maybe it is a way to communicate their anger and misanthropy to the rest of the world.November 30, 2013 at 8:02 pm #119868
CNN reporting now too.

CNN just called me and asked me to come on TV on Sunday between 5 and 6 p.m. ET to talk about all this, but they’re still leery that this may be a hoax …November 30, 2013 at 8:15 pm #119870
