So saddened to here of E.T.’s screenwriter Melissa Mathison dying today at age 65. The illness is unknown at this time.

Her last film, I think, is Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, The BFG, set for a July 2016 release.

Well, that stings. It’s still one of the best screenplays I’ve read, and I actually have a copy of it at home that I’m going to read again. I’m sure she knew how much it meant to people, and I definitely look forward to seeing the BFG, and what she’s done with it. Rest in Peace.

E.T.’s screenplay is one of my all time favorites. Sad day. Look forward to seeing final work.
