Who do you think should be the next recipient of the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award?
Morgan Freeman was just awarded, following the likes of Lily Tomlin, Julie Andrews, Sidney Poitier, Clint Eastwood, Debbie Reynolds, the list goes on. Who do you think should be awarded in the upcoming years.
My pick for next year is Christopher Plummer, followed by the likes of Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Cloris Leachman, Maggie Smith, Robert Duvall, Ellen Burstyn, Judi Dench, and Donald Sutherland.April 8, 2018 at 5:51 pm #1202526103
Cloris Leachman or Diahann Carroll would be great!April 8, 2018 at 11:57 pm #1202526234
Cicley TysonApril 9, 2018 at 12:21 am #1202526238
Maggie Smith would be great.April 9, 2018 at 3:47 am #1202526320
I don’t think Maggie Smith travels for awards anymore.
Cicely Tyson is a great suggestion. The SAG dual emphasis of film and television is a perfect fit for her long, distinguished career.April 9, 2018 at 12:47 pm #1202526809
Cicely Tyson would be my first choice.
SAG Life Achievement, unlike an Honorary Oscar, is the most appropriate way to celebrate the whole body of her illustrious career.
Shirley MacLaine, Diahann Carroll, Cloris Leachman, Robert Duvall, Jane Fonda, Ellen Burstyn, Christopher Plummer, Donald Sutherland, Sophia Loren, Alan Arkin, Piper Laurie (so underrated despite 3 Oscar nominations), Jane Powell, William Shatner, Gene Hackman, Gena Rowlands, and Joanne Woodward (even if she won’t be able to attend) are all worthy candidates as well.April 12, 2018 at 6:39 am #1202528391
Maggie Smith, Christopher Plummer, Helen Mirren, and Ellen Burstyn seem the best bets to me. I’d also throw Mark Hamill into the mix, because why not?April 12, 2018 at 8:03 am #1202528437
Sissy Spacek ????April 13, 2018 at 4:14 am #1202528908
Sissy Spacek, Robert Duvall, Tommy Lee Jones, Christopher Walken and Robert De Niro are amongst the few actors I have in mind that the SAG should reward a lifetime achievement award. They’ll give Meryl in her 70s or 80s (lol)
