I’m trying to think of any reference to the SF Bay Area in any Best Picture winner, no matter how small or tangential.  The only ones I can think of:

Eve gets into Margo’s good graces by fabricating a story about seeing her perform at the Shubert theater in San Francisco (a lie that Addison recognizes) in ALL ABOUT EVE.

We see Phileas Fogg pass through San Francisco on his trip AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS.

Not mentioned in the film itself, but one scene that takes place in NY in THE GODFATHER was actually filmed in Ross, CA (in Marin County).

Can anyone think of anything else, regardless of how minor it might be?

Bumping in case anyone else can think of anything.

I guess I could note, while I’m at it, that while IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT makes no reference to SF at all, its sequel THEY CALL ME MISTER TIBBS! takes place entirely there, with Tibbs mysteriously moving to California even though his detective in ITHOTN was famously from Philadelphia.  Also, Tibbs has a wife and kids in the sequel, while you get the feeling he’s single in its predecessor.
