Oscar producers are always looking for special moments on the show that will get people talking the next day. Since Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are both nominees this year, why not ask them to give a special tribute to James Horner, who won an Oscar scoring the theme to “Titanic” that made Leo and Kate famous?
Yes yes yes completely agree. I would also maybe have Celine (or Menzel, Lea Michele type) perform a tribute as well
I dunno Marcus.
It’ll help the ratings. And it sounds good in theory. And he certainly deserves a homage for his works and achievements.
But so many luminaries have passed this year (including Celine’s partner). And it seems a little contrived. Then again, so are the Oscars.
I suppose it could go either way. One of the better moments during the telecast, or one which might leave people feeling a bit uncomfortable.
They’ll probably use James Horner’s Titanic score for the In Memoriam tribute.
It would be nice if they both at least introduced the In Memoriam tribute!
^^That’s more along my line of thinking. If they’re not going to do proper tributes to the honorary winners who are alive on the telecast then it’s inappropriate to single out someone who isn’t. And as much as I’d love Celine to do that, lets face it she’s had a rough week and that might be too much too soon.
Yeah since when Horner passed away, I’ve been wanting a Celine performance of My Heart Will Go On to be the big tribute song but she’s going through alot right now it.
too many memorials and you end up with that depressing Emmy telecast from a few years ago. I think you need to keep them all together.
