Latest entry in Paramount franchise hits theaters July 22
Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for “Star Trek Beyond” on Monday.
In the trailer, we see Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine) and the rest of the Enterprise crew forced to abandon ship and take refuge on a nearby planet. But once they land, they are quickly thrown into even more danger as an alien force threatens their lives.
J.J. Abrams produced “Star Trek Beyond” along with Roberto Orci and Bryan Burk. Justin Lin directed while Pegg and Doug Jung wrote the screenplay. Jeffrey Chernov, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Tommy Harper served as executive producers.
“Star Trek Beyond” will premiere in theaters July 22.December 14, 2015 at 3:16 pm #202879
Like 99% of the world, I loved the first Star Trek and unlike 99% of the world, really liked Into Darkness and felt that Cumberbatch deserved a Sup. Actor nomination.
This one looks distinctly different from the others, clearly from the different director and feel, but I will most likely still see it.
Funny story. About a month ago, my Dad claimed that he saw the trailer to Star Trek Beyond already, and claimed that the story was about Khan’s daughter. I thought he was crazy about no such trailer exists and that is (unless I’m missing something) not the story from the trailer.

Catastrophically bad. I thought it was a Funny or Die thing at first. It had to be. But this sealed my non-attendance next year. JJ made a calamitous decision putting the franchise in the hands of Justin fvcking Lin? Fast and the Furious in space. A lot of folks comparing it to a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 trailer went horribly wrong.December 14, 2015 at 7:12 pm #202881
Now written by Simon Pegg.May 21, 2016 at 9:44 am #1201839539
The second trailer is astronomically better than the first. I absolutely loved Star Trek, really liked Into Darkness, and based on the new trailer, I think I’m going to enjoy Beyond as well.May 21, 2016 at 10:37 am #1201839559
I agree the new trailer is better but I am still a little wary. I loved the previous two movies, but I am not feeling incredibly hyped like I did for the first two. I will still see it and probably love it!
