While some of the fans are itching to see Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill reunited for the first time since “Return of the Jedi,” others are wary of the potential cheese factor.

Will the new film make use of these old stars as an integral part of the story or are they just being used to draw in baby boomers hoping to go on a nostalgia trip?

I’m pretty sure all Star Wars fans, regardless of age, are excited to see Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Han Solo onscreen again.

The timing of this thread is weird, but whatever brings in traffic, I guess.

Well, there’s no way to know if it is or isn’t until the movie is released.

The marketing has focused on the new characters so I doubt the old ones are there to just fill in seats.

I’m excited for The Force Awakens for the new characters. The originals do pretty much nothing for me. I know.

I’m pretty much with you. I love the old trio and for nostalgia reasons I’m excited to see them again and see how their stories might end, but I’m mostly excited for the new blood.

Why would this be a ‘mistake’?

    Because they’re “old”?

    I dont think so.
