I just watched the new trailer for “The Wolverine” and I thought to myself, ‘Oh God…why?’ and then I had another idea for a thread on Gold Derby.
What’s another super hero/comic book story that you would like to see on the big screen? (I know we’re exhausted with super heroes, but hey, the Oscars are months away).
Any thoughts?March 28, 2013 at 10:31 am #95575
The FlashMarch 28, 2013 at 10:40 am #95576
“The Wolverine” actually looks descent. Why the appalled expression Boogawooga?
Anyways I like ensemble films like the Avengers or the Dark Knight. Maybe a Teen Titans or X-Men film?March 28, 2013 at 10:55 am #95577
I’d like to see an Avengers-type movie with all Batman villains. They are all such rich, interesting characters. Unfortunately this won’t happen (though for good reason) because no actor will dare touch the Joker now after Heath’s grand, towering interpretation.March 28, 2013 at 11:25 am #95578
lol Judy Harris, I’m not really appalled, but kinda disappointed that they chose to do yet ANOTHER Wolverine origin story, instead of another Super Hero. I really feel like The Wolverein, although he’s pretty badass, is better in smaller doses. Just like The Hulk.
I agree with the DC villains. Oh, only if Heath were alive, (RIP), I would love to see where the Joker got those scars.
The Flash is a good one, but I’m not really familiar with the story though.
I also would love to see a live action Akira. sounds disasterous, but with the reight director, it could be great.March 28, 2013 at 11:51 am #95579
I love this topic!
Sides the Dark Knight series, I don’t think DC has put out any good superhero films as of yet. (I’ll wait and see about the new Superman film.)
I’d love to see more femme fatale films with actual talented actresses and directors. It would be pretty awesome to a Catwoman film, with Anne Hathaway reprising her role as Selina Kyle. Would just love to see her use a whip and a better costume.
Would also love to see live action films of characters such as:
And Marvel really needs to obtain rights from the Fox films and reboot a lot of these other horrid films. (X-Men in particular)

I liked the first 2 X-Men movie. The third not so much. X-Men First Class series is pretty sick. Cannot wait for the 2nd one.March 28, 2013 at 1:07 pm #95581
– Black Panther!! I don’t understand how the people at Marvel say creating Wakanda would be difficult but they go and make a Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy movie without thinking twice.
– A solo Hawkeye filmed based on his current comic book.
– Captain/Ms Marvel
– And of course, a Justice League film (and get a comic writer to help write the screenplay!!)March 28, 2013 at 10:00 pm #95583
I really loved Static Shock as a kid. Wouldn’t mind seeing that translated to the silver screen. Actually, if someone did a Teen Titans picture that carried some real weight, then I wouldn’t mind that either.
