Just saw this movie, early screening with friends, NOT an Oscar contender. A BAD movie, to be more specific. My six film-student friends who saw the film with me agree. Bradley Cooper was good but will also NOT be nominated. Not a chance of any nominations. I’d say it’s probable that this film ends up with a rotten on Rotten Tomatoes. Another Eastwood bomb.
I have to admit that i have never felt excited about this movie to begin with.
Nevertheless, good or bad, i disagree with your last statement about it being “another Eastwood bomb”.
As far as i am concerned, Eastwood’s last few movies (even J Edgar) were all well-made and i enjoyed most, if not all of them.
Would’ve appreciated it if you had gone into WHY you think the film is a bomb. I mean, there is a difference between an individual not liking a film and the general consensus as to how a film is, and its awards chances.
There are a few critics i follow for many years and have respect for, and they have almost always been spot on come awards season. How they personally feel about a film, and the awards potential/chances of that film.
I am personally looking forward to it.
