OK, so what movie has the potential to be THE Technical Achievement movie at next years Oscars?

This year we have two: Mad Max: Fury Road & The Revenant
    2014: The Grand Budapest Hotel
    2013: Gravity
    2012: Life of Pi
    2011: Hugo
    2010: Inception

So what movie has the potential to be the 2016 movie to be the next big Technical Achievement?

Looking at the movies to come out this year…

Can Batman vs. Superman do it? Hell no. I am betting the movie get 0 nominations.

Right now I see few possibilities:

THE BFG – A Spielberg epic, with massive visual effects and production design. This one can be the movie we are talking about. Teaser looked stunning.

THE JUNGLE BOOK – The movie needs to be this year’s Life of Pi to get a lot of nominations, and it needs to be good. It NEEDS to be good. The trailer showed everything you need to be a Technical Achievement.

FANTASTIC BEATST AND WHERE TO FIND THEM – If it is REALLY good, it can do SOMETHING. But if Deathly Hallows Part 2 with 1.3 billion and 98% RT score can get only 3 nominations…

SILENCE – Scorsese movies are usualy stunning and amazing. You can count of the movie being a strong BP contender. Looking at the production you already feel: Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Makeup, Costumes.

Definitely ‘Silence’ from what I have researched so far.

    BEST ORIGINAL SCORE:

    John Williams for The BFG

(The one nomination I am very confident is happening next year.)

Totally agree, The BFG and Silence are my picks.
Even in just the short teaser for The BFG you can tell the score is going to be phenomenal!
