Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan and Michael Pena, 20th Century Fox’s The Martian is currently in production in Budapest, with Simon Kinberg and Aditya Sood producing for a November 25, 2015 release.January 5, 2015 at 9:46 am #171216Another one from Ridley Scott. O how the mighty have fallen.
I havent read this so really, what do I know? But it sounds very much like yet another “disaster” film which happens to be set in the Cosmos.
From a guy like Ridley, who directed the iconic Alien and Blade Runner, his tank appears to be emptying, slowly and torturously.
If it’s like Gravity, I’ll wait for the DVD. Lol.
Or perhaps Chastain will be eaten by a Martian animated chronicle with 8 legs (they always have, 6-8 “legs”).
I’ll wait to see who they rope for the Screenplay credits. Since Damon appears to be cast, maybe they’ll ask him for some pointers.

Promising.
So perhaps, a strange bacteria will eat away at Chastain’s body…..
Sure bboth scott and goddard had their ups and downs with world war z and exodus, hiwever prometheus in my opinion was brilliant and cloverfield and cabin also fantastic. Damon is the lead , it is his sketch in the poster art.

Damon is. It is not an one-man show by any means. Damon and Chastain have quite juicy characters in hands. Damon’s Matt is one of the most hilarious lead characters you’ll ever see/watch in survival movies/novels like these. He makes jokes, he gets into absurd situations, he laughs, he cries, he feels fear, he dances to 70’s disco music in the middle of nowhere… It’s a great character and in the right hands Damon can pull off an Oscar nod without a problem. Chastain plays the badass commander of the ship that made the decision to leave Damon’s character behind and is struck with guilt by it. Wiig plays the public relations for NASA (what a delicious character).

Hopefully a return to form for Scott. Sounds like a great opportunity for Damon as well.
Damon goes from broadly comedic to really emotional once or twice. It’s a great great character. Chastain is a supporting character in the book but it depends on the writing. They can easily make her character a leading one. Wiig has the best and funniest character apart from Damon. With a good writer and a few stellar scenes she could make it. But it’s Ridley Scott we’re talking about…

He’s also the lead of the new Alexander Payne film called Downsizing and having read a part of the leaked script at the time (still in works of course) I can safely say he’s coming for that Oscar.
