So, I was first introduced to Ms. Hayward’s work by my mom, who considers her her favorite actress.  I was 12 and the movie was I Want To Live!  I fell instantly in love.  She reminds me of her day’s Jessica Lange.  Any other Hayward lovers out there?

If so, why and what’s your favorite film of hers?

    She’s a five-time Oscar nominee and one-time winner

    Smash-Up: The Story of a Woman (1947)
    My Foolish Heart (1949)
With A Song In My Heart (1952)
    I’ll Cry Tomorrow (1955)
I Want To Live (1958) – Academy Award Winner – Best Actress

My dad liked her a lot.
I watched her movies on TV when i was much younger.
I don’t know why, but i used to lump her and Barbara Stanwyck together.
I won’t say it’s my favorite, but i remember With a Song in my Heart best among her movies that i’ve seen.

Another fine actress from Brooklyn, New York
    completing the tri-fecta..
    STREISAND
    STANWYCK
    HAYWARD

My guilty pleasure, the film i can never turn off is
WITH A SONG IN MY HEART..  sublime acting and
wonderful lip-synching to jane froman’s records.

My favorite performance of hers has to be B Girl
Barbara Graham in I WANT TO LIVE… its a fine
    film as well…

Her worst performance, as was everybody connected
to the film has to be the part Judy garland got fired from
in VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, HELEN LAWSON…
Thats in my top 10 of worst films of all time and poor
Susan Hayward was just as bad as anybody else connected
    with the film..
