It was so fucking boring. I almost fell asleep watching it. Oscar bait in its purest form. Reminded me about All the King’s Men. I can see Academy going for it big with nominations but no wins. It’ll probably be this year’s American Hustle. Streep will be nominated because they have this in their rules to nominate her every single year if she’s starring in something baity. She’s good here but doesn’t deserve nomination, not with this kind of competition. Hanks was servicable. All the others were wasted. Paulson and Coon should stick to TV, at least there they’re appreciated. I don’t want to see them being wasted like that on big screen. The only acting nomination will be Streep. Spielberg might get nominated, might get not. It’s a toss-up. Del Toro and Nolan do not have to worry about anything.

This is spot on. It was the most boring film I saw this year. And Meryl Streep is just okay. So NOT deserving a nomination. It’s so unfair for all the outstanding female performances this year that she will take a spot. Again. I’m so tired of the Academy and the nonsense love for her…

I predicted a month ago that this pious, overrated movie would be a bore-fest …the Academy rejected Spielberg’s masterful ”Lincoln” as dry, wordy and dialogue driven ; they aren’t going to go for this !
Well I mean , a political cover up of an unpopular war in the early 1970s …few people care about Vietnam anymore , even though the movie can be read allegorically in regards to the present

I highly doubt it’s gonna stay there.

It sounds like the “experts” who predicted The Post are stanning to other contenders as of now.

78% on Rotten Tomatoes and 82 on MC (which actually matters more supposedly). NBR best picture of the year. Reviews are still coming in. Was this suppose to be Citizen Kane or something? I don’t get some of the hyperbolic reactions other than simply wanting this to fail, which is cool too if you just be honest about it.

This is my first and last comment on this page. I will not be part of the mockery and insults directed towards many members of the community.

I’m predicting this to score something over the 90s on RT and an 84 on MS.

    Thanks

I will still count on The Post as a Best Picture contender, not because of the RT score or whatsover but it’s because of the film’s timely issue/message. I think it will still be a well-received film but maybe not in a score that is as high as the other contenders.

Currently sitting at 81% on RT. My bet is it’ll end up somewhere between 91 and 94. Haters gonna hate!

When films come in late, they can’t get meh it’s okay reviews if they hope to make an impact. Hustle had a 90 MC and still struggled to get all of it’s nominations in the precursors. Now we are supposed to be believe this Bridge of Spies redux is going to perform better than Bridge of Spies with zero lead up? NOPE.
