12 Years a Slave
…gets both sound categories.
…gets a screenplay nomination.
…gets a supporting actor nomination.
…gets nominations in all four acting categories.
…gets a sound mixing nomination.
…gets two supporting actor nominations.
Anything else that people are going to be looking for?
I included a poll because why not?January 15, 2014 at 3:24 pm #133552
American Hustle wins Best Picture if it gets a Sound Mixing nomination? No, that doesn’t make any sense. Please explain.January 15, 2014 at 3:37 pm #133553
Another obvious one:
…If 12YAS gets Lupita and Sarah Paulson in supporting actress.
BTW, when are the announcements (EST time)? I’m getting mixed results when I search for it…

I mean that if any one thing that I listed happens, I will consider it a huge indicator of support.January 15, 2014 at 6:31 pm #133560
I havent the heart to watch them live. I’ll look at a list later.January 15, 2014 at 6:44 pm #133561
Her becomes a serious contender for Picture if it gets an acting nominationJanuary 15, 2014 at 7:39 pm #133562
the BSA category is weak and so I can easily see Cooper nominated…Lawrence will be nominated and ADAMS will , I suspect , be nominated at the expense of Thompson/Streep…If BALE is nominated and DERN or HANKS booted then it really will be over
Even if only Cooper . Lawrence and Adams are nominated then American Hustle will be a force to be reconed withJanuary 15, 2014 at 8:25 pm #133564
Oh, if Gravity gets a screenplay nod, I’m ready to tell the other chefs to pack their knives and go home because we’ll have our Top Chef.January 15, 2014 at 8:35 pm #133565
Steve Pond wrote the same thing – Gravity gets screenplay, then it wins BP.
It can win anyway, but that would be pretty strong evidence.
Clooney in at supporting actor too (my guess is he vetoed a campaign for himself; he is also a contender as producer of AOC and otherwise amply nominated in recent years, so he can afford to take a year off otherwise).
