I mean… you have Inside Out which is fine because they submit everywhere except for any of the actors. And then Anomalisa which does submit David Thewlis and Jennifer Jason Leigh in the real acting awards as well as Animated Feature and Picture, and then Minions which submits for Picture, Actress for Bullock, Sup. Actor for Hamm, Keaton and others BUT NOT ANIMATED FEATURE!!! and I looked like four times thinking I missed it. And then Mad Max and Spectre submitting in Original Screenplay instead of Adapted. What the hell is going on?

lol I think both Mad Max and Spectre will be changed to Adapted as soon as the awards season kicks off. I don’t think the Academy will even consider them as Original.

Even the Minions team is skeptical they can make it in.

It’s amusing that the latest Avengers movie is campaigning 7 different actors for the lead races (including James Spader!). Possibly a record?

Max can and possibly will be considered  in Original Screenplay. The reasons could be fairly convoluted but there it is. The screenplay was written originally for the screen afterall and in some countries, such as Australia, which is relevent here, there was often no distinction between Adapted and Original or, they hand them out when it’s expedient….although the distinction is there now.

Max is a grey area I suppose. As long as it’s nominated, and George Miller is cited somewhere, that would be very nice all ’round.

I hope the Academy places the screenplay in Adapted but either way, let it be there.

That was especially amazing. I mean, I always considered Downey the lead in all of the movies and everyone else supporting. You could make the argument that Robert, Chris E, Chris H and Mark could all be co-leads but Spader and Renner are definitely NOT leads in that movie, no argument about that.

Everything I have said is true. Avengers: Age of Ultron is campaigning Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner & James Spader in Lead Actor and Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Idris Elba (who had like two lines), Stellan Skarsgard and Samuel L. Jackson. I am not kidding.
