Thank you Miss Ethel. Great start after a triple-blast mojito!September 3, 2012 at 9:28 pm #68949
So jealous! Please see The Sessions and let us know. I like Hunt, but I’m most interested about Hawkes. Character actors do well in Lead Actor, so if it’s greast as everyone says, he could be a slamdunk.September 4, 2012 at 5:50 am #68950
Dearhearts, I’ve awoken with a rather ribald headache. Has the atmospheric pressure gone array this fine 1st day of fall?!

Hi all , thanks to Babypook ‘poking’ me via pm, I too plan on attending tiff for my 9th year in a row. Here is a link to my tiffr, I’ll be seeing 17 films with my tiff partner in crime, Miss Charles and her sidekick Brianna:September 4, 2012 at 9:56 am #68952
You chose many that I’d want to see (throw in The Lords of Salem at 11:59 at the Ryerson Theatre on the 10th, and I’m good).September 4, 2012 at 11:24 am #68953
I’m hoping this provides moment of high drama, like when I discovered Go Blue down a dark alley, in a passionate embrace with none other than Michael Fassbender! The crafty gal dashed out the back of the Princess of Wales theatre at the end of Shame only to run into the glittering fassy, hot off his Venice best actor win. After that, we saw the new Aldomovar picture in the same theatre, but we were so exhausted from all our extra curriculars, that my snoring almost got me tossed out.
This year we may start more sedately with one cocktail each at the Ritz across the street from much of the action. Hope the paparrazi is a less burdensome that last year when we stepped out of our limo in our festival finery.September 4, 2012 at 11:31 am #68954
By the way, Go Blue and I were both able to meet, chat and kiss our fav films stars in the past few years at TIFF – Sissy Spacek after the Get Low world premiere for me (Robert Duvall asked to escort me as his date to the intimate after party and I agreed) and Fassy for GoBlue. Wonder what adventures await this year?! Speaking of Sissy, her husband has art directed two of my most anticipated films this year – The Master & To the Wonder – so perhaps she’ll be here again, tho that’s likely wishful thinking, but we shall see.September 5, 2012 at 7:29 am #68955
Sad you don’t have Bwakaw in your schedule, though I understand why. However, I enjoyed and loved that movie so much. I saw it two months ago here in the Philippines.September 5, 2012 at 9:21 am #68956
Thank you Iskolar. I do have it my schedule altho my friend Go Blue doesn’t. Glad to hear you liked it, makes me more excited to see it now.September 5, 2012 at 12:45 pm #68957
Are they showing “The Comany You Keep” with Redford, Sarandon, and Christie, as well as Shia LaBeuouff? I’d love to see how that is.September 5, 2012 at 6:40 pm #68958
That was on my list (and Go Blue’s) but it was “offsale” when I went to purchase that particular screening so chose “At Any Price” instead.September 5, 2012 at 7:22 pm #68959
Toronto shows 267 new feature films. Were I to go on my own, I’d stick exclusively to films without US distribution yet, since there are so many hidden gems.
And GoBlue – great to see you back here! It has been too long.September 5, 2012 at 9:48 pm #68960
Is anyone planning to see 7 boxes?
It’s the first paraguayan film to be shown in Toronto, and huge hit over here. (over 100.000 tickets sold in about 1 month with less than 10 screens) It beat TDKR and maybe surpassed the behemoth that was The Avengers.
A charming and enjoyable film.
