Please let me know-(to anyone out there as well) there is no talk/speculation of *Scorsese’s upcoming epic “Silence” starring Liam Neeson in any pre-*Oscar buzz, etc
some other sites do have it listed as opening-(imdb.com) but there’s little else?

Excellent question! I was also wondering the same thing. Perhaps it is because there is no US release date set in stone, and thus no guarantee that it will come out this year. I think it should still be included as an option in the meantime, even if it is deemed ineligible later on. I am personally predicting that it will give Scorsese a much-deserved 2nd Best Director win, but since it is not an option in the Prediction Centre, my current GoldDerby bets do not reflect my actual predictions.September 2, 2016 at 5:42 pm #1201917220
It’s a disgusting book with a gross message and Scorsese is the wrong person to try to make it not awful.September 2, 2016 at 5:45 pm #1201917221
They won’t answer. I posted TWICE a request on the GG predictions center thread and they completely ignored me.September 2, 2016 at 9:50 pm #1201917247
We have mentioned several times that every film in our predictions center must have three things: a firm release date, a distributor and an actual campaign behind it. Without all three, we are not adding the film you might be requesting.September 2, 2016 at 11:15 pm #1201917254

Okay, so you need to actually do some research.
My request is: Sonia Braga in Aquarius, the most talked about performance in Cannes this year alongside Isabelle Huppert’s, for Best Actress Drama.
First, the movie does have a release date: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5221584/releaseinfo?mode=desktop Not only that, it will also be shown at the New York Film Festival, right after winning Best Film at both Sydney and Amsterdam Film Festivals. This release date was set so the movie could be pushed for awards in the US.
Regarding campaigning, the actress HERSELF has posted this: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10210514945735598&id=1404027051 Even by just looking at that poster you can see they will push it HARD for awards.
The movie is also getting talked about on almost every other website dedicated to awards, like Variety and Indiewire. Like I said, you need to be better informed. Just because you didn’t get a call or an email from a big shot, doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
I would love to hear how Sandra Huller, the Julieta ladies and Britt Robertson are so ahead of Sonia Braga, who actually has a career in the US and will be playing Julia Roberts’ mother in an upcoming movie, and how their canpaigns are much stronger. There was talk of an Oscar nomination for Braga at Cannes, not for Huller or the Julieta actresses — maybe there’s a lesson for you: pay attention to the Cannes coverage next year so you don’t repeat such gross mistakes again.
You either right this wrong by adding her to the predictions center or I am allowed to believe there’s something suspicious driving your bias on this. Respect for the users of Goldderby is all I’m asking.September 4, 2016 at 3:42 am #1201917514

He stated the criteria clearly. Until the movies you’re interested in match it you won’t have it for an option.September 6, 2016 at 7:24 am #1201917973
Braga’s movie does have a US distributor in Netflix. No one here is prejudice against South Americans. Hollywood is Euro-centric. The foreign movies that excite people here are from European countries. This partially explains resistance to Asian cinema.September 6, 2016 at 10:02 am #1201918012
Lol this is ridiculous. Why was my post deleted?? This only proves my point.September 6, 2016 at 10:06 am #1201918014
Why is this still an issue? You got what you want and she is added to the prediction center.September 6, 2016 at 10:23 am #1201918018

Well I am glad that is the case. That was the fair thing to do. I only wish we had gotten a straight answer from the powers that be. Anyway, I do appreciate it.
