    Michael Norris, have you ever watched Crash? Astonished

    I have it at #48. I think it speaks about its issues in a very detailed and fascinating way. I don’t think it beats its message over people’s heads like everyone says. I don’t think there’s any message that the movie repeats. I think it’s a bunch of different messages, that are based on one similar theme. I look at it as if I’m watching someone give a speech instead of watching a traditional movie. As long as it’s an interesting speech, I don’t mind.

    I like all of the Best Picture winners but would not have voted for them among the competition they were in.
    1.  I would have chosen “American Graffiti” over “The Sting”
    2.  “Brokeback Mountain” over “Crash”
    3.  “Nashville” over “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (though both are so great)
    4.  “Saving Private Ryan” over “SHakespeare in Love”

    I can’t say that I liked all Best Picture winners. I definitely gave myself permission not to watch these snoozers again.

    I will always think that Goodfellas is a better movie than Dances with Wolves but I have rather emotional connection with the movie…
