    Hello everyone!

At long last, I finally have completed the Top 25 Best Picture Oscar Winners video compilation. I dedicated it to my friends at Goldderby, for inspiring me all these years to enjoy the Academy Awards more and more, at each passing turn. Enjoy, and thanks for your patience with waiting over a year for this one!

Awesome video as always Jas. They always make me tear up or put a smile on my lips. Nice mix of films. No snobbery detected.

ETA: I LOVE the music you used.

Thanks guys for the great comments! You all keep me motivated to keep producing these, and they are a lot of fun. It took me over two hours to just find music I found worthy to implement- I got lucky with Stargate, who knew that had such an awesome theme!

I have alternated the ending of the video since I wasn’t satisfied with the final minute- just changed the pacing a bit- make sure to Like again, since the original video was replaced:

    WELL DONE !!!

Your choice of scenes per movie are your favorites as well or what’s readily available?

On music score choice, are those your Top 3 or so or in that order?  Admittedly, that Out of Africa theme always gets me as with Meryl’s Cesar Awards reel in 2003.

    Thanks Etchie!
For most of the scenes, I choose them based on mood they create with the flow of the music. I also choose them because I find many of them beautiful (eg Mary Tyler Moore’s showcase of humanity in Ordinary People, Robert De Niro’s walk in The Deer Hunter). I also try to utilize only high-quality clips, because iMovie is a pain with loss of quality during export. Some of the clips (The Apartment) aren’t as inspired because that was all I had, but I own 90% of the films.

Music selection is very important, and I never will use a music selection more than once in a video I make. Thus the more videos I make, the harder it is to choose.

Well Jas, you have a wealth of great great film scores to choose from. Just stay away from almost all of the winners, and you’ll be fine.

You certainly have a talent & passion for this thing.  Go market/sell yourself & your folio to Film Awards & Tributes Events like Cecil B. DeMille @ Golden Globes, AFI Lists/Lifetime Achievement Awards and why not Academy Awards someday.  Or, are you doing it already or have done some?

I would love to do that! I have never submitted them, but am very intrigued to know more about the process. I might just go directly to the company sites and email them links to some of the videos. Great idea!

Consider also applying or checking out applicable Apprenticeship & Educational Programs & Grants of AFI, The Academy, etc… One way to get your foot on the door.  Good luck !!!

Very nice montage but you don’t really think that Braveheart is a better film than The Apartment or On the Waterfront, do you?  Many critics consider Braveheart the worst best picture winner since The Greatest Show on Earth.  And check out All Quiet on the Western Front and The Best Years of Our Lives, both better than half the films you cite.

    Still, nice montage.
