    Hello fellow derbyites!

At last, my new chronicle begins, honoring the Academy Awards- and this time its honoring the best of the winners. I give you my top 25 best supporting actress winners. I apologize for some of the quality of some of the clips- some were just not available in better definition. Feel free to make your own lists too, and yes my number one (1) choice may draw some controversy, though its been my favorite ever since childhood. Enjoy!

Well, I haven’t seen Goldberg’s performance there, so I won’t judge.  Looking forward to the top 25 actor lists I hope are upcoming!

    RUTH GORDON- ROSEMARY’S BABY
    MARCIA GAY HARDEN- POLLACK
    DIANNE WIEST- BULLETS OVER BROADWAY

Jason thank you so much for posting this!
However looking at your list, I am completely taken back. I wasn’t expecting Geena Davis at all (thought she would be at the top of your worst list!)

Kinda upset Blanchett didn’t make the list, but I love your number one pick! What a memorable performance!

Love your number one pick too. It’s a kind of performance I can watch over and over again without getting bored.

NIce list. I’m so glad “Helen Sinclair.” made it. Whoppi is a good choice but she wasnt the best in her category.  Oh well, as always, good job.

Lorraine Bracco is my choice from 1990, but I haven’t seen Ghost so I can’t say about Goldberg really.

Thank you guys for all the great feedback! I’m glad you appreciate these videos. They have helped my channel grow and gain subscribers since I started this last spring.

Whoopi was a very personal choice for me, I have grown up watching her performance and I loved it before I knew it had won an Oscar. When compiling my list, I went back and forth between her and Gordon for number 1, and though Gordon is a VERY Impactful performance to me (and frightening for those who know the movie), I just had to give Goldberg my number one spot.

Curisouly allaboutoscars, you say you wouldn’t have put her on the best 100 supporting performances, and considering there haven’t been that many winners, what makes you loathe the performance so much? Just curious.

Very fun! Once again, thanks for posting!

My two favorites absent are Holme and Swinton, but love seeing Smith, Mo’nique, Darwell, and especially Hunt.

Jason why did you leave out Blanchett?? I thought you were just as big of a fan of her as I am….

But after many views, its a very strong list. I have always loved Goldberg, she was a total riot in Ghost. She put everything into that role that a great supporting role should have. Definitely was a worthy number one!

Thanks Miss Frost- yeah Goldberg is wonderful, isn’t she? I just loved how everytime she came on screen, the whole tone of the movie changed for the better. That, to me, defines a great supporting performance- where you have the audience missing your presence. And wanting more.

I am a huge fan of Blanchett, and am still sore that she failed a nomination for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, still one of her best roles. The Aviator was a half and half for me in terms of her work. I thought she was good, but I didn’t think she came off like Katharine Hepburn (except the final scene where she gives Howard that look of bemusement and pity, that was Hepburn to me). And her voice bothered me. But its by no means a bad win- I think she should have won for Notes on a Scandal (and of course, Elizabeth).

Ms Goldberg’s timing was spot on. She was hilarious, and believable. Loved her work in Ghost. The film may not be the super-serious dramas we love to give accolades to, but it always makes me weep, and Whoopi makes me smile.

Ok Jason. Now i’m going to watch your video. Lol.

Way to go Jason. Love your mix of ages here and LOVE most of your choices, including your score.
For some reason your videos usually make me cry. Lol.

Yes I agree with Goldberg, one of my favorite Comedic performances of all time! She should have an Oscar for Color Purple as well!
And okay I totally agree with your assessment on Blanchett. I didn’t mean to cause a riot, I just thought since that was her only win she would get a spot lol. But yes she should’ve been nominated for Curious Case which is a tradgedy in my book, and I think she was miles better in Notes than The Aviator.

But keep on the good work! It will be compelling to find who is in your Worst Supporting Actress video!
