This year, we got 9 nominees for Best Picture under the new voting system. This includes shocker EL&IC and excluded Dragon Tattoo. If this new system was up and running in the past, which movies would have been in/out in previous years? I’ll start.

    2010
No real change, maybe The Kids Are All Right out. The others probably had enough support to get in.

    2009
Blind Side and District 9 out. The Messenger in?

    2008
The Dark Knight and Doubt undoubtedly in. Maybe even Rachel Getting Married and Frozen River in.

    You continue.

Remember that when they applied the system to the 2000s, there were years with five, six, seven, eight and nine (never ten) nominees, so you all should be a bit less generous with your nominations.
