I think Damien Chazelle is a fine director, but he’s getting worse and worse. Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench was very good and I almost loved it, Whiplash was good but SO overrated, La La Land was a nice film… so we should probably worry about his next project, lol

I hate Feces and yet it had a better screenplay than La La Land. I almost threw up writing Fences is better than another movie….

The Godfather part 2 is extremely boring and difficult to sit through.

If someone invented a machine that could direct movies, and asked for: ARTHOUSE INSPIRED MOVIE + HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL COMMERCIAL APPEAL + OSCAR-BAIT, we’d get La La Land.

I disagree with Marco B. He’s not a fine director. He’s actually a better (as in: somewhat more efficient) writer than a director.

Knowing that Inarritu has a project at Cannes that literally sounds like the most pretentious piece of garbage in cinema History makes me want to go back to bashing The Hack and his “movies”. But I’ve already made enough enemies.

Uhh his director Oscar for “birdman” should’ve went to anyone not named him or Linklater and his other director Oscar for the 2.5 HR National Geographic ad (Revenant) should’ve went to Miller or McKay.

Please don’t put High School Musical and La La Land in the same sentence. High School Musical will always be better than that snooze-fest.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 was one of the best movies of 2014.

FYC: Ready Player One. Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Visual Effects, Original Score, Production Design, Director and BEST PICTURE (make it happen Oscars!!)

Breaking Free has more vocals than City of Stars. I’ll take Ashleys high pitch squeaky voice over Emma’s out of breath singing.

Someone in the Crowd who? None of the La La Land songs beat Bop to the Top.

“The Prayer” should’ve won over “When You Believe” for best original song

I’m so proud of GD to knock out La La Land in my screenplay game as early and deserving as it did. Though I didn’t expect it to be the 3rd movie out LOL.

The Fighter was treated so harshly, not sure if it’s the hate for David O’ Russell or Mark Wahlberg but it isn’t the worst original screenplay this century, not when Borehood and American Noise(Hustle) exist.

I rarely see hate for Wahlberg so I’m assuming it’s for Russell. American Hustle was a mess, a complete mess. Not sure what attracted critics to that script when it was just an “homage” to classic crime dramas (La La Land teas) even though I couldn’t give two shits about the plot. And don’t even get me started on the four main cast members (AGAIN) being nominated, especially THAT one almost winning.

Yeah, the Whiplash worship is THE WORST. I mean, La La Land had a lead that one could at least call cute. But Teller is a prick. Chazelle’s script for Grand Piano is actually a better one, and that film (that I also don’t like, but…) has a smarter use of music than Whiplash. Go figure these cults!

I can’t stand Miles Teller but I still loved Whiplash. Simmons is amazing in it and the music is top-notch. I am unashamed of my Whiplash love.

J.K Simmons is amazing indeed in Whiplash. He balances subtlety and overacting perfectly. Miles Teller fucked the film up for me though. I don’t think he’s that good of an actor at all.
