Jennifer Lawrence was SO likable in Passengers.

Keira Knightley was awesome in the Pirates movies and earned the right to “vogue” all she damn well pleases.

If Emma Stone won best actress for La La Land, there is no reason why they didn’t nominate Meg Ryan for When Harry Met Sally and give her the damn thing.

Michael B. Jordan, Emily Blunt, Cameron Diaz, Scarlett Johansson, and Idris Elba have all earned the right to poop on the Oscar’s stage when they finally end up winning. Or before. Preferably all together.

“Someone is staring at you in ‘Personal Growth’.”

I think Humphrey Bogart deserved his Oscar for The African Queen, although I enjoyed Marlon Brando more in “Street Car.”

Agreed. While history has proven that Brando’s turn was phenomenally influential, Bogie was outstanding. In a perfect universe, Bogart would have won for The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (which he was criminally not even nominated for) and Brando for Streetcar (though my personal favourite that year was actually Monty Clift), but the Academy could have done a lot worse.

Overall, 1952 was an incredible year for leading men.

xavier dolan’s ”its only the end of the world”. i dont know why the critics love it. the acting is quite ok but the film is just subpar. why it won the grand jury prize in cannes i will never know. the casting is a dream, there were some great scenes but more could have been done with the actors i mean he had marion, cassel and gaspard.

    Agree.

I also believe Kate Hepburn would have made a great winner for African Queen, although Leigh’s role is more iconic nowadays.

Am I the only one that feels SAG voters are voting for the wrong reasons. If someone is overdue, they automatically win SAG. That is horrible. They should just get rid of that award show.

Umm, no. It helps having a good narrative at any awards show

I know that, but you’d think the SAG committee would be all about the performances. It would make them seem.interesting.

They normally do, so it makes no sense why you want them to get rid of the show.

Woody Allen is overrated. Manhattan was shit. He is so annoying and ugly in it.

I finally saw Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close this weekend and I really liked it and it totally deserved to be nominated for BP. Maybe it’s because my son is now 9 years old and I could really see him in Oskar.

Marion Cotillard is the best actress of the 21st Century and she was also worthy in…

    Public Enemies
    Inception
    Rust and Bone
    The Immigrant
    Nine
    Macbeth
    Allied

(I forgive her for Dark Knight Rises death scene. Even the greatest have bad moments here and there)
