The Academy has just announced the deadline for voting – online, coming to one of three locations in LA, NY or London and I assume receiving paper ballots – is not Fri 5 pm PT, not Thurs 5 pm, due to the huge issues some members are having.

That gives tech people an extra day (they were closed today and then tomorrow), and extra day for in person (where there might be lines). Not sure if it will really solve problems, but it’s what they are doing.

Meh, a day will not impact the race.

Not to give Paul Hanlin hope, but here’s a scenario:

Grandpa or Grandma have their teenage grandchildren “show” them how to work the computer. They get their passwords. They input their choices. Then later they switch them to Hunger Games, Dark Knight Rises and Avengers, which lead with the most nominations.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended the deadline for members to vote for Oscar nominations by one day to Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, 5.p.m. PT.

The original date was Thursday, Jan. 3, at 5 p.m. PT.  Members may vote online or submit a paper ballot.  Any votes received after the deadline will not be counted.

“By extending the voting deadline we are providing every opportunity available to make the transition to online balloting as smooth as possible,” said Ric Robertson, Academy COO.  “We’re grateful to our global membership for joining us in this process.”

    More to come…

Omg, yes!! In that scenario, Lawrence will probably benefit the most!

Well, they and the FBI have already made a PUBLIC admission that they have the email accounts of every man, woman and child in the US and soon, everywhere abroad.

Check it out. Big Brother Entertainment! Yay!
