There must already be another topic on that, but I didn’t find it.

Terrence Malick‘s last effort, Voyage of Time, was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and is scheduled to be released on October 7, 2016.

Any thoughts, ideas and expectations about it? Personally, I’m really excited. Terrence Malick is one of my favourite directors, and the only film I didn’t like from him was The Thin Red Line; also, I must admit that his worst one was To The Wonder. Knight of Cups was better but not very good either, yet I am still expecting an unforgettable movie (not necessarily in a totally good way, lol), since it seems the project of his life, and very suitable for his cinematic style and aesthetics. It might not be equally strong in concept, but after all it seems to me that images in Malick’s films end up being concepts, as well as concepts end up being images: there’s not a clear distinction between them anymore.

    What do you think?

    I’m excited for this one.
Only recently did I watch Knight of Cups and I was pleasantly surprised. He has a lot to say.

I thought so too! I was not expecting that, because on the contrary, To The Wonder didn’t really have much to say. Let’s just hope that Malick keeps being inspired in this one as well. Watching it at the cinema is going to be an experience.

(PS. there probably wasn’t another thread, seen the very limited partecipation this new one has been having, lol)
