Earlier in the day, countless people claimed they went to the Oscar website and saw her name (not Ruth Negga) on the list of nominees. They also saw Tom Hanks listed as 6th place for Sully. Is there a reason for this? Was Adams nominated by error? Was the academy listing Hanks to show he came in 6th place?

A bit odd if you ask me.

Amy wasn’t nominated. I’m sure that the tech people had certain people lined up just in case for the website and it was just a mistake.

Interesting. I remember something similar happened a few years back on their site- just forgot what movie it was.

I saw Amy Adams listed as a Best Actress nominee on the website and then refreshed it and it immediately disappeared. I don’t think that she was nominated (I wish she was) and this is why. Instead of the nominees being in alphabetical order like they were on the live broadcast, the Best Picture nominees were listed like I would list them: La La Land, Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Arrival, etc., as if it were a list of the films based on which one was most likely to win. This leads me to believe that someone wrote the list on the website without permission and thought that Amy Adams was nominated (BECAUSE SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED, HOW DOES A FILM EARN 8 NOMINATIONS AND NOT ONE FOR THE STAR, THE MOVIE RESTS ON HER SHOULDERS FOR GODS SAKE)
