The Danish Girl. I will laugh so freaking hard if Hooper wins this, and BD. Mwahahahahahaaa!

Our Brand is Crisis (I hope)

    Irrational Man

    Joy

    Ricki and The Flash

    Bridge of Spies

    Snowden

That’s What I’m Talking About (if it’s released this year)

    Sicario

    The Revenant

    The Walk

    Steve Jobs

    Icon

7-8 of the above. Let’s have ten. And go ladies for Director!

My early and relatively baseless prediction:

    Bridge of Spies
    Demolition
    The Hateful Eight
    Inside Out
    Joy
Me & Earl & The Dying Girl
    Our Brand Is Crisis
    The Revenant
    Sea of Trees
    Suffragette

Some people on Awards Watch went to a screening of Carol. They are major Cate B fans but nobody was over the moon about the film itself. So unless the reviews coming out of Cannes in the next couple of weeks are raves, I don’t think it’s in the running. Maybe a nom for Cate. They all complained about Kyle Chandler’s perf being bad.

    1. The Hateful Eight
    2. Joy
    3. The Revenant
    4. The Sea of Tree’s
    5. Money Monster
    6. Steve Jobs
    7. Irrational Man
    8. Genius

I don’t think there will be more than 8 film’s this year, The Martian and Bridge of Spies could be in there but they both are in genre’s that don’t really do well at the Oscar’s. There’s never been a spy movie nominated for Best Picture but Spielberg/Hanks could make it a first. Ridley Scott is too hit and miss for me to predict The Martian so early on, the story does look promising though.

For Movies With a 2015 Release date :
    1.Joy
    2.The Hateful Eight
    3.The Revenant
    4.Irrational Man
    5.Brooklyn
    6.Pixar’s Inside Out
    7.Bridge of Spies
    8.Demolition
    9.The Danish Girl
    10.Black Mass

The Martian, Joy, Bridge of Spies ,The Revenant all are being distributed by 20th century Fox so its difficult to predict which one will be pushed harder for oscars.(The Martian seem the least likely)

TWC has TH8 ,Carol ,Macbeth,Tulip Fever & Adam Jones (One surely gets in, TH8 my pick).

WB also usually gets one in so one of Black Mass, Creed & In The Heart Of The Sea might make the cut.(Black mass looks a good bet)

Fox Searchlight (The Last Two Best PictureWInner’s Distributer) has Brooklyn, Demolition & Me Earl And The Dying Girl. So these have a good chance of showing in.(especially Brooklyn)

Looks like Sony Picture Classics have their best chance with Irrational Man.

Focus has its contenders in The Danish girl and Suffragette.

GoJuni, I know you’re relatively new here, but please stop making these “what are you … predictions for this year?” – we have official threads for these exact topics. Its just cluttering the forums.

If there was going to be a Pixar film to be nominated for Best Picture wouldn’t it be The Good Dinosaur? Its going to released in November whereas Inside Out is being released in July. Seems to me that Disney will be putting most of their effort into pushing this film for Best Animated feature win and a possibly Best Picture nomination whereas Inside Out will likely only get a nomination in the Best Animated feature caterogry.

I do agree with the release date, but as of now I have heard only great things about Inside Out and barely anything about The Good Dinosaur; The AMC Movie news editor,John Campea said that disney people consider Inside Out to be their best work till date.
Also IO is directed by Monsters inc. & UP(best picture oscar nominated, may 29,2009 release)fame director which like Inside out was screened at Cannes. As of TGD, its director has no oscar history for directing.
I do consider the plotline to be great for both movies but as of now IO seems to have a better momentum for a BP nomination.

Well I was only going on the release date, you bring up valid points! Guess we will have to see, it may be that releasing two Pixar films in the same summer period wasn’t what Disney wanted so they moved TGD to November.
