No one has time to watch every single important movie ever made. What are your biggest blind spots in movie history, and what are you most eager to finally catch up on?

I for one haven’t seen any Antonioni films, and I haven’t seen pop cultural touchstones seemingly everyone has seen like “Rocky” and “Jaws,” and other classics like “Grapes of Wrath,” “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington,” and “It Happened One Night,” just to name a few from AFI’s 100 which I’m skimming right now. 🙂

Most of Chaplin, I’ve only seen City Lights (which is on my top ten of all time). Keaton too, I’ve only seen The General.

I’ve never been able to get through a single Fellini film, but I’m not giving up.

Oddly enough, the film I first thought of when I read this was Caddyshack. I’ve never seen Caddyshack, I should do that.

    I have two lists.
I have seen in parts but not the whole thing:
    The Shawshank Redemption
    The Godfather Movies
    The Original Star Wars Trilogy
    Gone With the Wind

I have seen none of it:
    Raging Bull
    Goodfellas
    Casablanca

I own all of these, I’m that lazy sometimes. Don’t judge me.

Anything by Tarkovsky or Ozu. I’ve also never seen Tootsie.

Until last night, my biggest blind spot was Casablanca. (After seeing it, I feel that it’s a tiny bit overrated – still in my top 20, though.)

    Now:
    Gone With the Wind
Every Hitchcock film other than Vertigo
Every Tarantino film other than Inglorious Basterds
    Saving Private Ryan
    Rocky
    Goodfellas
    Silence of the Lambs
    The Usual Suspects
    Alien
    The Shining
    Blade Runner
Foreign films other than Pan’s Labyrinth, Bicycle Thieves, Cinema Paradiso, and Kung Fu Hustle
Basically every single classic western (I like the genre a lot, but I’ve only really seen ones released in the past few years)
Also, a lot of classic comedies. I tend to take myself too seriously.

Haven’t finished with Tarkovsky, and need to re-watch Stalker. First time I saw it I hated it and since it’s been a few years I’d like to go back with a fresher perspective.

I find it embarrassing that I’ve never seen The Godfather, so I’ll start with that.

    The Godfather trilogy
    Pulp Fiction
    Reservoir Dogs
    Rocky
    Goodfellas
    Psycho
    Jaws
    Gone With The Wind
    Casablanca
    Blade Runner
    American Beauty
    The Usual Suspects
    Scarface
    Alien
    Raging Bull
    The Shawshank Redemption
    Indiana Jones Movies
    Taxi Driver
    2001: A Space Odyssy

There’s really too many to list.

This is my list right here. Though I could go on ahead and watch Alien.
