I know there are some movies that are long shots, but they at least deserve to be contenders. Please write the different movies, directors and actors that are not in the prediction center. I believe that The Jungle Book should at least be available as a choice, as well as Jon Favereu. I have also heard people asking for Mary Elizabeth Winstead. I am genuinely confused why magnificent seven and Miss peregrines home for peculiar children are in the prediction center but the jungle book it not. PLEASE PUT IT IN!!!!

I am confused why Lupita Nyongo isnt in for queen of katwe. With the dire state of supporting actress, she may hit a couple precursors.

    Laura Linney for Nocturnal Animals.

She’s a one scene cameo. The movie itself too polarizing outside of Shannon.

Midnight Special (as a better movie overall than Loving) and its performances.

One scene cameo has not stopped them before. Plus this category is quite thin at the moment, and she has gotten raves for her performance – regardless of length. This is just to put her in the prediction centre – where she belongs for Nocturnal Animals way over Sully (which I’ve still yet to read a review that even acknowledges her presence in). I’m not giving her the Oscar just yet.

If Miss Perregrines Home for Children can be predicted for Picture, Linney should be in the Supporting Actress centre.

Right now, I have Linney in Nocturnal Animals ranked 10th among the Supporting Actress contenders – I see her as basically this year’s Jane Fonda in Youth.

I know artistic categories are not up for predictions yet, but Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children looks like it could get nominations for costume design, production design, and visual effects.

Yeah, she’d have more of a shot if Nocturnal Animals was going to get nominated across the board (à la Beatrice Straight in Network) but some notable Oscar-watchers are sceptical about how the film will play to Academy members.

Yes, and his role had a great mix of comedic and emotional moments.
